So you are okay with the police being able to throw anyone they want in jail, for any reason they want, for basically however long they want?
That is what the system you are laying out becomes. It does not matter if you are guilty or innocent. When the powers that be realize (which will happen by day 2 of this policy) that they can simply overload the courts and cause anyone they want to sit in jail for 2 years waiting trial, they will weaponize it. Then because you angered some police officer or politician you will be arrested on any charge they drum up, not even caring if it is plausible, and then you will sit 2 years awaiting trial, and as soon as the charges are tossed out and you walk out of the courtroom a free man there will be two officers waiting to arrest you again.
This isn't some slippery slope argument. We see this sort of behavior in other countries. This is literally what our government was set up to prevent, as that is exactly the sort of thing that happened in Colonial America under the King.

I wish you luck but we're in a battle for America's soul and we can't win that with our hands tied behind our back on the basis of morality over migrants. Have to keep our eye on the ball!
