Watching tonight's episode now...I was so excited when Adam said "Aerosmith" and "Crying"! But then the performance started and I wondered "wtf is going on". He wasn't with the backing vocals, he wasn't with the band...yet another great Aerosmith song done wrong on AI.

As for the rest of the performances - Danny's first was weak, his second was pretty impressive. Vocally, he exhibited more talent and ability in "You Are So Beautiful" than he has in a loooong time.
Kris - "Apologize" was a straight forward, well done, nothing special. "Heartless" was actually pretty damn good. I think that his second performance will make things a little more difficult, but probably still not enough.
Adam - "One" was as usual, another great performance - the arrangement worked for me and he got to show off. "Crying" was the worst song I think I've seen him perform.

I still think it's Adam and Danny, but Kris's singing ability, musical ability, and arranging made things interesting. I would actually like to hear the full version of "Heartless"!
 
good god adam just screams every song. i know he had good vocal ability but man his songs just hurt my ears sometime. i hate how the judges jut fawn of everything he does when i am sitting there thinking how painful it was. If it was anyone else they would be ripping them apart. i would actually like to have a danny and kris final at this point so i dont have to listen to that crap anymore.

i thought adam was horrific with "Crying" also. his timing was off, he wasn't in harmony with his backups. it was the single worst performance i've heard from adam this season and in my opinion, the single worst performance of the night.

regardless of who wins, i still think gokey is the most marketable of the 3. kris as the least marketable of the 3. danny will make it in music no matter where he places in this contest.

I'm almost tempted to download it from iTunes. But that would mean I'd have to install iTunes. So I guess I'll pass.
 
Adam is sinking his own ship. He could have done awesome with One but flipped out on it too much. He obviously doesn't get how people are turned off by his shrill screaming. Overall I liked it, but he could have really kicked @ss.

Gokey was solid. I like his voice and vocal style but I don't get much from his performances. There's something about them that I just find detached, even tho he's got a 'heartful' sound.

Kris on the other hand is interesting. He's almost folksy by the way he personalizes his songs and turns them into a story. He's imaginitive and creative, and I've found him the most enjoyable to listen to lately.

Unfortunately neither of them is owning the others, muchless showing their best right now, and that's unfortunate. Adam had the ability to run away with it, but unless he figures out why Mad World was so successful and takes advantage of it, he's going to scream his way out of the top spot (if he hasn't done that already.)
 
For all the complaints about Adam's screaming (which he does), I don't read nearly enough complaints about Danny's. That entire first song, I was thinking "why are you screaming at me, what did I ever do to you". But then the judges came around and said how the song was in the perfect range for him. Yeah, right, just like how Adam did a great job on "Crying".

Danny's start to "You Are So Beautiful" showed that he has great control (his runs weren't just flourishes, they were well contained and pitch-perfect), but he could use some instruction on singing below his comfort range. There was too much breathiness and lack of fullness for the first quarter of the song. The rest completely made up for that though.

I don't even know if I'll get home for Lost tonight, so I'll probably be watching the results show late, as usual.
 
Kornheiser is guessing that no one goes tonight and they all return for a three way battle for the finals next week.

LOL.

As "wow" as that would be, they've had the show scripted and the format set for months now, they're not about to add another performer at the last minute. I wouldn't like that anyway, it should be a head to head battle at the end.
 
wow, until they got to the chorus I had no idea what the hell song they were singing it was sooo off from the original.
