i still think gokey is going to have the most commercial success of the 3. kris is clay aiken to me, a decent performer but just to strange looking. adam is ok. but not sure he has the mass appeal that gokey has.

 
Too bad Danny went home today, I feel bad for him and he is def a better singer than Kris.

I will give Kris very big props though on his Kanye song yesterday, best performance of the night and his best ever, one of my fav performances this season that's for sure.

I don't know if this is true but I heard that not winning Idol for some contestants might actually be a better deal. Not sure on how legit this info is, but apperently if you win, you are bound to a 7 year contract with Idol and they take a huge chunk of your profits etc.

If anyone has the biggest chance of making it on their own from all of this it's Adam Lambert no questions asked. Not winning might actually be good for him.

Its up to Adam right now. He can run away with it if he has the right song choices, but otherwise Kris has the lead imo. Since both were only 1m votes apart, Grokey voters are probably more appreciative of Kris' style than Adam's, giving the edge right now to Kris.

Hopefully for Adam's sake he'll sing what he's best at, and that's not the crap rock he prefers to do. Otherwise I hope Kris kicks his @ss. He doesn't have the vocal strengths of Adam or Danny, but he's excelled in interpretation and consistency.
 
Okay, watching it now - when Kris was announced to be the first one in, I was floored! And to think that he was only 1 million +/- from Adam...

Katy Perry, always love the outfits. Despite what she wears on stage, she's got a damn fine body. And when she bent down to grab some of that fake money...dayum.
 
So glad Adam is in and Gokey is out. Gokey got incredibly boring the last five or so weeks. Kris actually transformed himself into someone worthy of being in the finals. Should be great next week.

I knew Katy Perry from that awful kissed a girl song. Unfortunate because that Vegas song is great. Love her voice and style too.

Well, Ryan said that the top two were within 1 milllion votes of each other, so I'd say it could be closer than a lot of people would think.

Adam is already a success. It was rather amusing watching the clips of their returns to home. Danny ahd a good mix of fans, still favoring the younger ones.

Kris's fan-base was somewhat shocking. I expected only 12 year-old girls could be giving him so many votes--though I was quite amused to see that it was predominantly ~6 year-old girls mobbing him :laugh: i think he's good and all, just no chance of sustained success with that kind of fan base. His Kanye was great, but anyone will do a Kanye song better than Kanye, that's a given.

Adam has an extremely diverse fan base, and clearly those with a far more mature, and experienced taste. He appeals to the rock sentiment, the balls-to-the-wall and ballad mentality, the theater world, hell, he can even croon if he wants to. And the emo's dig him, too.

Extremely disappointed that Kris went over Danny; it's completely wrong, actually. but the main issue is that he needed that extra boost for success. I think he'll be fine, maybe, but that contract would have really helped.

It's quite obvious that a guy like Adam will need no help. Kris...meh, who cares?

yeah, I don't think it's that long, but depending on who you are, it could be terrible.

that type of deal would totally stifle a performer like Adam, but it would make a shitload for AI and S Cowell, which is probably why he's such a huge fan 😉

and think about this: J Hudson has an Oscar, best new artists, blah blah. imagine if she had been trapped by Idol and unlikely to explore her other talents? Say what you will, but she's by far the most successful to come out of that show up to this point, considering her range. And she didn't even make it to the top 3.
