Well, I have built PC's since 1989, and for the last four years I have used nothing but AMD CPUs, and I would have myself committed for choosing an Intel CPU over an A64 especially in today's world. Does THAT tell you something?
Basically, unless your primary task is video encoding, then A64 is really the only contender out there--especially the new Venice and San Diego cores.
Oh, and Thomas Pabst (Tom's Hardware) is an Intel whore, and has been for YEARS. He is running such a biased site that most people do not read it anymore and certainly those "in the know" do not take him at his word.
