Well, I have built PC's since 1989, and for the last four years I have used nothing but AMD CPUs, and I would have myself committed for choosing an Intel CPU over an A64 especially in today's world. Does THAT tell you something?

Basically, unless your primary task is video encoding, then A64 is really the only contender out there--especially the new Venice and San Diego cores.

Oh, and Thomas Pabst (Tom's Hardware) is an Intel whore, and has been for YEARS. He is running such a biased site that most people do not read it anymore and certainly those "in the know" do not take him at his word.

nice comeback. roflmao!

the fact that i never claimed intel is winning the price/performance fight and im still called an "intel fanboy" shows there's lots of paranoia at planet amd-fanboy.

it's sad when people see pro-intel bias at tomshardware even when the site openly states amd has a performance lead. it's like the leftists who insist the new york times has a conservative bias. yikes! :Q

Intel can't win P/P, it's impossible for overclockers

X2 PR ratio is around 1.65:1 meaning you clock an X2 to 2800Mhz (read trivial) you need a D @ 4620Mhz to match (read impossible)

This does not change this is a biased website, and Tom Pabst is still an Intel whore. Period. Of course he has NO CHOICE now to admit the truth, as it is so extremely in AMD's favor that his normal crowd would not show up and look at his site anymore if he didn't cave somewhere on this. Believe me, it nearly killed him to post that review on the 64 X2. Just how many AMD oriented nF4 boards has his site reviewed? Not many. One? The second he can find any little reason to go saying Intel is better than sliced bread again, then he will. Tom didn't admit the superior price/performance on A64's until it became ludicrous not to point it out.

The othere reason I do not like this guy is that whenever someone publicly points out his bias, he will threaten whem with litigation. His site/corporation has a long list of lawsuits and pre-legal actions. I know this guys history since 1997, so PLEASE do not tell me I do know what I am talking about.

Only an intel fanboy calls someone with high computer tech knowledge (like us) saying "AMD is better" an AMD fanboy. Even if there are very stong arguments about AMDs architecture superiority.

I acknowledge AMD is better off in the vast majority of benchmarks... duh. The AMD fans here are the ones who blow their tops at any sign of criticism and refuse rational debate because, well, their "high computer tech knowledge" isn't nearly as high as they think. :)

Dey say Itanium is the way and X86 is whack, well we?r skint so well we cant do jack

The old XP still living large, I got me boys down in FAB30 in charge

We maybe be skint, we may be broke, but at least our CPU?s don?t make smoke

Dey try and copy our sh*t , NX and 64 BIT

Barret can kiss ma ass, cos my K8?s have class

It ain't going nowhere, Prescott is bad for life

Intel is a clockspeed ho, which will give you clap, yo, so give that b*tch a slap

My athlon can flow the rhymes without missing a beat, and it has none of that sissyboy heat

Intel dualcore is a bore, while my a64, is what the b*tches adore

Intel and the fools don?t know to mess with hector RuLZ

Netburst hits the dusts, its like 1978 Pontiac with rust, TRUST

Buy my K8?s and you will see, your dream iz a reality

On die memory controller make you pop your coca cola

Point to point bus, is da Way to go TRUST

Intel will one day have to forfeit, hell we may even make a pro-fit !

Now sanders is gone we remain strong, f*ck marketshare cos it wont last long

Big blue helping out, always there when we shout

Your asking this question in a forum filled with system builders no one is going to tell you Intel is better.

-----Only a closet case Intel posterboy would use " not speaking for intel either" as their sig. Be mindful of your company in this forum. "their "high computer tech knowledge" isn't nearly as high as they think." GFY!

-----Only a hack f***ing company like Intel would state that losing 600Mhz in their transition to dual-core was normal. I don't see their competitors having any trouble. BTW, when you're encoding your video at blazing speed, does that 130w design your toaster oven has get you off? Just wandering.

What about 200+ watts under load...In the past we have seen it is usually quite normal for INtel to under list their wattage consumption...I mena power management helps you when you are just sitting there doing nothing, but once you have to use it watch out!!!

Intel is a good company just made the wrong turn at the fork of the road...Dont think for one second they are not capable of getting back on the right road and still taking the lead...It is like in Nascar and AMD has huge lead but evertime there is a caution (AMD sitting back taking to long to get product out, counter INtels marketing, etc.) flag INtel gets to pull back up to the lead and hope for a better restart. AMD is the car that is leading with 20 laps to go and takes 2 tires instead of 4 and it is only a matter of time before the other cars catch up and blow by them....

Like my Nascar analogies??? I can come up with more!! (joke)
