Why is the most thorough driver comparison review on the internet garbage, when it shows 7970 GE beating GTX 680? Are you saying that it should be the other way around?
Look, the truth is that we are not "overly" emotionally invested in Nvidia, ok? We were really never that much of Nvidia fanboys to begin with, except for maybe one. I was against PhysX for a long while, and also against Nvidia's proprietary 3D Vision glasses that cost $200 for a while when I had several other S3D glasses for $10 a pair, working just as well.
To really hate anybody who likes Nvidia is a bit extreme, and a little silly too.
Most of us do like Radeon cards very much too, but the extreme hatred from the outrageous AMD loyalists is actually distorting things here. First, it causes Apoppin to no longer receive high-end Radeon cards from AMD for review, then it causes all kinds of flame wars (which it always did), and also paints us in green when most of us are actually neutral. Consistently painting everything in green makes other see us as green too, which is not the truth for most of us.
We do not HATE AMD enthusiasts like you appear to really, really, really hate Nvidia enthusiasts. I used to hate the ego of 6800 Ultra owners for gloating with "awesome" Doom3 speeds and with SLI support, while I only had a 9800 Pro at the time. That was, until I got both a 6800 Ultra and an X800XT All-In-Wonder. In fact, I was even happier with the X800XT AIW, because it was smaller, ran cooler, and had super-awesome TV tuner functions built-in, too, and was also faster overall anyways. Yes, the ego is very very hate-able. Just don't let it paint you all "red" with rage.
You guys do seem to be protected here with your affiliation, so carry on, and at least be happy.. let Apoppin get the Radeon cards for review again so that he can continue to do awesome reviews on them, which would be a far more effective job of promoting your cards than "pwning" the forums would ever do. Just because Apoppin refused to be a puppet for AMD, and just because he almost spoiled the launch of HD 7970 by warning you about Nvidia being smarter this time with the 28nm round, does not mean that you have to try to put him into oblivion, beyond the black hole into the Universe of ultimate destruction and wayyyy beyond, into hell for all eternity!!!!! And he's still doing a fine job as a reviewer. He's not perfect - even Anand himself says some bad things about AMD too. Apoppin said bad things about Nvidia too. And everybody here can see that Apoppin is still doing perfectly verifiable benchmarks (did anybody ever, EVER, disagree with his benchmark scores?????).
Guys!
