My XFX 7800XT is running just fine, but I mistakenly purchased it without the Starfield coupon code. I contacted Amazon this morning as I now see it comes with a code. I have to return my card, and order a new one. I processed the return, but the new one shows a ship date at the end of October lol. I just can't win lately.

The XFX Merc319 runs a bit warm, I can feel it under my desk when the 3 fans spin up and hear some light whooshing noise. But coming from a Vega 64 it's quite a bit quieter and cooler comparatively. I'm still wondering if I should have gotten a 4070 and a G-sync monitor.

it's RDNA3 get boost perfomance in 2.0 Patch?

P.S Also from comments 4k + FSR + max RT
7900 XTX – Avg 63, min 49, max 84
7900 XTX – Avg 71, min 54, max 94 (patch 2.0)

I said "screw it" and put in an order on Amazon for the Sapphire Nitro+ 7800 XT. It won't ship until the end of October, but I still got in on the Starfield promotion.

Should be a massive upgrade to my RX580. Hopefully it has a similar longevity (16GB VRAM should help)

If 3x the performance isn't enough to satisfy you, I wouldn't know what will. 😛
To be fair, I still game on my business-class Dell 1920x1200 60FPS monitor, so I expect the GPU will be underutilized for now (monitor upgrade is in the planning stages).

I should be able to crank up all visuals and keep a constant 60 FPS, though.

Edit: I suppose since I have 3 monitors I can get back into Eyefinity. It worked really well when I was playing Elite Dangerous a while back.

How does the promotion Startfield promotion work? Do you have to purchase before the end of September or activate before the end of September?

Must purchase before the month is over. Activate by Oct. 28th. Be aware, there is the potential that if your card does not arrive by then, you would lose out on the game. Because every game I have activated with an AMD promotion (at least 5 now) requires you to use the AMD product verification tool. But don't let it stop you, you still have recourse.

I read someone on another forum did not get their Starfield code so Amazon refunded $100 to them. Goof up on the product page I guess. $420 for a 7800XT Hellhound would definitely work for me if I get boned on the code. Mine is supposed to ship in the next few days. Delivery window is the 29th-Oct. 2nd.

This is what I understand as well. My card says "Arriving Oct 26-29", so I might be pushing it.

I won't feel too bad if I miss out on the game (I don't usually play Bethesda games until I can get the GotY version), but It is a nice bonus.

If you ordered from Amazon you should have no trouble getting a credit issued for the cost of the game.

The 7800XT I ordered is waiting for me at home. I received an email for my Starfield code already, so tonight I have to uninstall my first new 7800XT GPU, install the one I got today, and then send the first one back. All for a game I may not even like. I would probably rather had that amount taken off my purchase price also, but that is not an option.

I will try out the new game this weekend, to see if I can get into it. It will be the first game I have purchased for quite some time, other than the new Dead Space I ordered last weekend, not realizing it wasn't a FPS grrr.

I hit some bugs on the first mission (pirates phasing in and out of an airlock). I haven't decided if I like it yet.

If you liked Fallout 3,4, New Vegas, Skyrim, Oblivion, you will probably like Starfield. Even if you don't, it could have come with a much worse game bundled. Hell, you could have gotten stuck with Red Fall or Gollum. Or not gotten a bundled game at all, which would have still been better than either of those. 💀

I dunno. If they made a custom Gollum cooler design for the card, it'd probably sell well just for the meme status. Add in a few extra copies of the game to gift to family and friends as well and I'd pick one up.

I thought you were going to go nuclear and say Overwatch 2 stuff but...

I'm surprised that Amazon did that because AMD is not buying the keys for anywhere near the MSRP given. It's tough to say exactly how much however. If it was a third party that OP bought the game from, OP should have been told that they were SOL. Amazon lost a ton of money on that sale.

My card will be here this evening. Got the promo code so no refund for me. I was planning to cancel game pass but the new Forza and a couple of other games I haven't played, like Atomic Heart are on there, so I'll keep it a bit longer.
