Wow, even the number 3 card has 16GB VRAM and is faster than the 2080TI. And the $1000 6900XT matches the $1500 3090 in performance.

The 3000 parts don't look so hot now.

Post reviews edit:
It's astonishing what AMD have managed to achieve with both the Ryzen 5000 and the Radeon 6000, especially given the absolutely minuscule R&D budget and resources compared to nVidia/Intel. Lisa Su is definitely the "Steve Jobs" of AMD with such a remarkable turnaround.

6900XT:
(It's absolutely amazing to see AMD compete with the 3090)

Just need a bit of sleep and do some work in the morning before redoing my PC's water loop again ... I will try to do it in under 4h this time, how hard can it be?

Im sure that waterblock will be perfectly fine, but good golly they cut that thing out with some dull mills and cutters/inserts

All EK blocks are like that. CNC machined without further polish. It works amazingly well if I go by experience with EK's block for Radeon VII I had.

Hey function over form is cool, but if you have ever used a mill you know thats NOT what its supposed to look like. But they did have a sharp-ish fly cutter for the mating faces and they look pretty even and flat. Also I wouldn't be surprised if the rougher surface might actually be better vs polished for thermals due to greater contact surface area+tim filling the gaps (that could also be crack smoke too though lol).

I assumed its a low quantity run or prototype with the 1/2 stamped on it, so I wouldn't really want to bust their chops over something like that; I get it. And like I said, im 100% confident in its function, its just interesting to me that they wouldn't be using sharper/new tools.

And really don't get me wrong, im definitely jealous. I'd love to excuse picking up big navi and going to town overclocking it. You should be able to double the clocks I have on my 580 😏

I suspect it is on purpose as you speculate above.
This is 2nd block from EK I see and it is manufactured to the same standard. Very industrial like feel.
Anyway, I've just finished installation and ran few quick tests to see it's effectiveness, all is good!

Temps on fully overclocked card (300W) are down from 65-70C to 38-55C GPU and 95-100C down to 64-75C Hot Spot :) Added bonus - inaudible!

Did you manage to get it all done in under 4 hrs?

Hahaha :D
NO ...
Next time maybe, as I've added two valves so I won't hopefully need to drain whole loop, just close them and remove GPU. This is very much work in progress WC system, as I tinker with it and realize this or that could be done better ;)

Awesome! How's your clocks, hit 2.9 yet :yum: ?

No, I'm limited to what AMD allows, which means 2800GPU and 2150MEM with +15% Power. Need to look into flashing 3rd party BIOS, but don't want to risk flashing ASUS or PowerColor custom cards BIOSes as they have different VRM's and PCB's.
Still, card is clocking higher within same power budget, which allowed me to break 10000 points in 3Dmark's PortRoyale :)

Got my Powercolor Fighter RX 6800 today. On the basis of one game tested - Baldur's Gate 3 - it has doubled my frame rate from my Vega 56. Paid too much for it, but Christmas is cancelled so I had some extra dosh free.

I also have a Vega 56. Waiting on a 6800XT. This is good news for me. :D

Traded my EVGA 3080 FTW3 for a 6900XT which will be here next week along with a waterblock. Finally!

I'm hoping some bios genius comes out with a mod to raise power limits too as that seems to be the biggest hinderance to Navi 21 overclocking right now.

Nice, why both cards?

my brother is going off the 5900X + 6900XT build with smart access..

my build being a bit old is an intel, so its going with the 3090.

i honestly told him he probably wouldn't see a videocard til next year, but i got very lucky at microcenter.
They weren't sold because they code they pulled was 6800XT, and not 6900XT.
It took management few hours to fix it and i got lucky to grab one.

Ah cool, good stuff! Is this 6900XT the reference cooler, or is it a special nitro one?

Nice haul. Did you reserve it on Microcenter's website before going? There are a few Microcenters near me but all about a hour's drive, so I don't want to go unless I know they have it.

The code on the cards were wrong, so they did not hand out slips at the morning.
The system scan'd them as 6800XT but the box and item code is a 6900XT, so they left them to sit til later.

lol.... that was a jackpot for me.

So yeah i think i am done with gpu shopping this year.
GL to the rest of you guys trying to snag something before the new years end.
But on another note, cyberpunk2077 runs awesome on a 2080ti, so i really didn't need my 3090.

To be honest, this must be the first non-reference 6900XT I've seen. If you could post few pics of it out of the box and maybe default boost clocks that would be awesome!
