haha...

honda- "11 incidents of minor property damage"

Ford- "you may catch on fire"

chevy- "random lockup of your steering wheel"

get the point? 🙂

the OP must be a former assembly line worker of an American car company out of a job. Either way, you'll be forever unemployed thanks to robotics, so suck on them apples

Well, usually the US recalls are something of more significance. I can't remember the last time a Focus was recalled for something silly like what was posted here. I mean, I'm sure it happens, but you always hear of the really bad stuff instead of the full picture (bad vs. the not so bad)

TORRANCE, Calif. -- Honda has issued a voluntary recall of nearly 500,000 automatic transmission Honda and Acura models to repair ignition switch interlocks.

The system is intended to prevent removal of the ignition key unless the shift lever is in the park position. The company says it may not work properly.

The recall includes some 1999 to 2002 Honda Accord models and all 1997 to 2001 Prelude models. Some 1999 and 2000 Acura TL sedans are also included in the recall.

The company said 11 incidents related to the defect have resulted in minor property damage, but no injuries have been reported.

Honda said it will repair the defect free of charge at authorized dealers when parts become available.

take that all you japcrap fanboys, go buy a quality american vehicle
I bolded the important part for you. Also, my family bought two American cars within the last 3 years... both were Toyotas built in America by Americans.

yes and? the money for said car still goes to a Japanese company...
and all the parts for said cars are imported from japan or built using thier parts and specifications... its still Japanese...

Hey you shut up before I shred a set of Wilderness AT's and roll my Explorer over onto your a$$! Hahahaha
There are exactly ZERO cases of properly inflated and non-overloaded Firestone Wilderness AT tires blowing out spontaneously. In _ALL_ cases, the tires were either under-inflated or severely overloaded, or both.

ZV

Ford statement from another site.... (bold added by me for emphasis)

"Ford fitted both Firestone tires and Goodyear tires on Explorers beginning in 1995 and through the 1997 model year. And the difference in performance is dramatic. For the roughly 3 million Firestone tires equipped on about 500,000 Explorers, Firestone's own claims database shows that there have been 1,183 claims of tread separation. For the 3 million Goodyear tires on another 500,000 Explorers (that have traveled more than 25 billion miles), there have been only two minor claims of tread separation according to claims information supplied by Goodyear. The performance of the Firestone AT tires on Explorer is 600 times worse than Goodyear tires on Explorer."

There goes your theory of improper maintenance. The Firestone tires were defective as proven by the figures above.

So the jobs created and the wages that the Japanese companies pay American workers don't matter at all? And for the record, domestic companies import their parts from Japan as well. Im not sure if its still the case, but Ford Rangers were basically made out of Mazda parts. (And thats not a unique example)

Are you nuts? They're paying Americans to build their cars while GM and Ford aren't! Does that mean nothing to you that Japanese companies are giving more Americans work than the "American" car builders?

Buzzzz

Japanese cars made in the US have to use a majority of US-sourced parts.

The profits the Japanese companies are taxed by the Japanese government which in turn use those funds to buy US bonds which help prop up our economy.

Look, omg...Ford has a recall on my 2002 explorer....

http://www.ford.com/en/vehicles/owners/recalls/results.htm

ahha um k...thats why those companies own half of japan.. thier investments arnt helping anyone but them you are crazy if you think otherwise..
the japanese may not have won ww2... but they sure as hell won the financial wars...

and those "so called" american parts.. are built using japanese specs and are still japanese...

the ONLY true american cars that help american companies and businesses are GM and Ford and Dodge. i dont care what you think is american in your mind
a toyota or any other countries car 100% assembled in the USA is still japanese.

I don't understand this "support America" crap.

If American cars suck (quality, length of use, # of breakdowns, etc) then I won't be buying a crappy American car. Maybe you people are rich enough to shell out tens of thousands of dollars on a car that'll give you nothing but trouble, but I'm willing to bet some of us here would rather get the most for our money.

I don't buy "American games" - I buy the games and game consoles I like ie Playstation 2 and RPGs.

Are you stupid or something? Toyota, Nissan and all those 'japcrap' companies are creating manufacturing plants in America while American companies are moving their plants to mexico and canada... those japanese companies are helping out the lower rungs of our economy while the american companies are outsourcing more and more at the detriment to our working poor while making their executives richer.

I don't think he took basic Macroeconomics 101.

Its hard to debate someone who goes on emotion rather than reason.

Most of the parts are sourced from American companies. It would make little sense to just import everything and assemble them here. And as far as profits are concerned, I don't care if the money goes to some rich asshole Japanese car exec or if it goes to some rich asshole American car exec.

I see the word "redneck" has been used a couple hundred times in the past few months. "White trash" is also in the ATOT vocabulary. If you want one word banned, then you have to ban them all, and stick to it.

Apparently people started buying Japanese cars by accident, and has nothing to do with getting your money's worth. 😕
