I live about 6 miles away from this. I am torn. On the one hand, part of me wants to take my camera down there and get epic shots. On the other hand, a larger part of me wants to lock my doors and spend the entire weekend inside. Hmmm

That sounds like a lot of the people who are against the mosque. Sounds like you might be a racist.

sohcrates didn't say anything about the N.Y. Islamic center. Your post referring to it is yet another example of you showing yourself for the bigot you are.

Where are the tolerant lefties when it comes to the free speech of people on the right? Where is Obama making a statement that Beck is protected by the Constitution to hold the speech here?

President Obama is under no obligation to lower himself to making any public statement about Beck's wingnut gathering. Where is Obama making a statement that Beck is NOT protected by the Constitution to hold the speech here?

Beck hates himself and has a need for public condemnation. It helps him get closer to how he feels without actually feeling it. He has built a massive wall between himself and the self realization he is a fool and he needs to exercise those muscles. He will seek every chance he can to publicly debauch himself. Beck is a gas because if you can read people at all you can see he's insane.

My grandparents will be there.

They must be self-hating, evil, corporate whoring, warmongering, bigoted, racist, conservative republicans. Did I miss anything?

You could be right, but there's always the possiblity that theyll be there to laugh at all the self-hating, evil, corporate whoring, warmongering, bigoted, racist, conservative republicans proving they are exactly that. :sneaky:

Tristicus -- If you care about your grandparents, remind them not to forget their Kevlar.

One could hope that with age wisdom will come, but the more i see of this world, the worse the outlook is, people seem to be going backwards. From freedom and inclusion to bans and exclusion.

It's not only in the US, it's in the UK and the EU too and it's getting more and more common...

Any Jew with any sense of history can tell you why... In a time of crisis, you find a common enemy.

He is trying to make this racial to me. He says all this hateful stuff 24/7 then he wonders why he is going blind.

You missed the fact that lots of people are worried about deficit spending.

No because this circle jerk is being funded by a nonprofit charity supposedly and making it "political" in any sense will get them in trouble with the IRS.

The Koch brothers are reportedly paying for buses to get people to the rally.

Why would you pick the spot and exact day of the MLK speech? Sometimes you can go to far when you're trying to provoke people. If he keeps it up, going blind will won't be a problem, because someone may try to close his eyes permanently. America is just like NY city now lol, learn to live in it, because it ain't going to change back. There is nothing wrong with rallying for what you believe in, but he is clearly trying to do more than just rally for some belief. Whats sad is, its people like him who keep the republican party alienated from the true makeup of America. He's a dinosaur and he is so delusional he doesn't know it.
