That is all.

Many of us didn't see him for the refuse he is. That's ok just as long as we have learned from our mistakes. That's all anybody can ask of us.

It is your fear that McCain would be 'more of the same'. I do not have that fear, that is why I am voting for McCain. I would have preferred to vote for Romney, but I will settle for McCain. This will be the first time I will vote my party in 8 years.

WTF are you talking about, it's been a split for the last two years and the Republicans in the White House still were fucked. Get rid of the worse offender first and then if it's still a mess then you change Congress. McCain's already demonstrated that his judgmental is no better than Bushes just my picking Palin as his running mate.

i agree with this. I voted for bush last time round because it was my first chance to vote, I was younger and ill-informed. I feel like I am much more informed now. I will be voting for McCain because I Liked his platform last time around, I wanted him in and bush out. He is not Bush. He is running much closer to true conservative values of cutting spending and taxes. though I do believe both of them are outright lying when they say they will cut taxes, neither can be responsible and do that. I say keep taxes where they are for a bit, massively cut spending. then look at cleaning up taxes.

Seeing the state of the country the way it stands now, why would you do it?

I'd particularly like to hear reasoning from the more vocal members on the right.

Because contrary to what you may think, the state of the country is still good. Most of us are employed, driving our own cars, drinking our own coffee, buying our own clothes.

The basics are covered. And even if they weren't, you can't blame the economy on Bush. I know everyone wants to.

Isn't this the third thread asking this question? I love these threads. Liberals, champions of free-thinking open-mindedness, seek to paint any opposing viewpoint as backwards and stupid. Don't delude yourselves. You're just as close-minded and set in your ways as the worst republicans. You don't want change if you don't agree with it. You don't want diversity if you don't agree with it. You want what you want.

So stop all this self-righteous bullshit.

At least I don't deny it. I believe I'm right, and you're wrong. Liberals pretend to behave as if all viewpoints are valid, while in actuality are just as close-minded as me. It's deliberately misleading.

based purely on the seats that are up for grabs this year, it's highly unlikely that the democrats won't increase their margins... republicans have far more seats to defend and a lot less money to do it with.

I'm all for giving the democrats their chance to f things up or show us what they can do, but I think the divided government people have a good case for their argument, though I know it's a lot easier to just call them stupid / incapable of critical thinking / afraid of change / hatred for America.

How do you get "more of the same" if the Dems have a filibuster proof legislature?

More of the same inadequate boneheaded leadership we had under Bush.

I love this new tactic by the Bush/McCain supporters. They are now voting for McCain not because he's a Republican, they are voting for him because they don't want the same situation they had voted for twice previously when they voted for Bush. If their judgment was so lacking back then why should we pay any attention to it now?

I don't believe they're all valid, but then I'm not really a liberal. In any case, I know you're wrong for supporting McCain.

Me, too, they think there is some kind of harmony in the universe if they can have a republican president and a democratic congress so that they can be stops against each other.

wouldn't we be far more likely to have checks, balances, and oversight with a divided government?

Theoretically sure, but Democrats rarely are able to pull all the different factions of their party together. It would be nothing like the Republicans under Bush who marched in lockstep. Hell when Clinton got elected in 92 congressional dems couldn't wait to run away from him.

People can only think within the confines of their hidden prejudices. Billions have been spent convincing people that liberal is bad, whereas, in fact, liberal has meant more inclusive. More inclusive scares the crap our of those who have pie and think no bigger pie exists. But more inclusive means more pie. The us against them mentality of the primitive hold back the progress of the human race. We will die robotic slaves or evolve into what we can't even begin to imagine. The fearful and small minded, all they see is fear. We will break the Republican cocoon of grunt level issues and learn to fly or we will die aborted. A tidal wave is coming and we will ride or drown.

Nothing can stand before the Will of God and God is the Ultimate Liberal.

1) Gridlock is good
2) I think McCain would be a better CIC than Obama
3) General distaste for the radical lefties

I'm leaning towards 3rd party since my state doesn't matter anyhow.

As I posted in a previous thread, you seem to like to take a simpleton's approach to voting. Heck, you take a simpleton's approach to everything from what I've seen. Perhaps you aren't a liberal, I think that besmirches the word liberal. You're just another partisan hack, the only difference is your motivation.
