About this immigrant rally during shutdown

A monument was closed because the Republicans didn't fund it. A rally was held not on government property. The shutdown has NOTHING to do with the rally.

The National Mall is a national park in downtown Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States. The National Park Service (NPS) administers the National Mall, which is part of its National Mall and Memorial Parks unit.

"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others"

A proclamation by the pigs who control the government in the novel Animal Farm, by George Orwell. The sentence is a comment on the hypocrisy of governments that proclaim the absolute equality of their citizens but give power and privileges to a small elite. Which is the type of government that Shadow9 heartily approves of.

Do you have another source stating the mall was to be closed during the shutdown?

Aren't all national parks supposed to be closed right now?

And how many sources do you want?

The event on the National Mall, which is supposed to be closed because of the ongoing government shutdown but to which the Obama administration granted exception for today's rally

I'm on the edge of my seat here waiting to see if the progz approve of that website.

I think it is funny how the progressive liberals love obama, until his true colors come out.

Then it is "shh, be quiet and let this blow over."

Next week they will be back singing praises to him again.

Are they so blind they can not see the president hates the United States and has utter contempt for our armed forces? Or they just dont care?

Something is wrong when veterans are blocked, but pro amnesty for illegals can rally.

These concepts are too hard for Texashick to understand; he literally thinks that "dem evil Obumma staff members closed the parks out of spite!"

More like obama administration opened the park to illegals out of spite.

Arrest veterans on one hand, then open the park to illegals on the other hand.

~ EDIT ~

Obama is showing his true colors, where are his supporters?

From what I've read the Vietnam vets were arrested not for entering a closed monument but for being there past the 10p.m. curfew time of that monument and some were in fact arrested last year for the same reason. But don't let me presenting facts stop your unfounded outrage.

Yes and now the paranoia comes through; Obama is doing this to personally spite you. I get it now - this boils down to your inner fear bleeding through to the rest of your brain and twisting your thoughts.

Seems you are correct about staying past 10pm.

Does not change the fact a park was opened to a certain group while other parks remain shut.

Vietnam veterans were arrested for entering a closed monument, but thousands of people were allowed to hold a rally supporting legalization of illegals?

Why doesn't obama just walk out there and spit in the faces of our service members? At least then he will not be hiding how he feels.

Can you please link and/or try to be specific as to these "veterans" being "arrested?"

There was an incident where some veterans and anti-war protesters were arrested:

http://hotair.com/archives/2013/10/08/video-veterans-arrested-at-vietnam-war-memorial-in-nyc/

However, this was at the NYC memorial, not a federal monument. It had nothing to do with the shutdown.

There was another incident involving the federal monument in DC. There, some veterans moved the barricade aside and they and several tourists moved in. The police asked them all to leave, and they left peacefully.

There was a third incident where some WWII vets had to move a barricade to gain access to the WWII memorial, but they were allowed to stay there.

Am I missing another incident?

Read the thread.

The vietnam veteran issue has been cleared up.

Does not change issue of a park being opened to a certain group, while other parks remain shut.

I'm asking you to source your allegation that "Vietnam veterans were arrested for entering a closed monument." Where and when did this happen? I see no clarification of that in the thread. I see a media report of arrests taking place at the NYC city memorial, which had nothing to do with the shutdown, so I suspect you are mistaken. Can you source this allegation which you made in your OP or are you withdrawing it?

I'll tell you what, I'll edit the opening post to stop the confusion.

Yes because Obama personally administers every national park in the US. It's not like they hire people that work there, obviously Obama is there putting red tape at the entrance himself, fist-bumping illegals whenever they come over from Kenya and declare themselves as Muslim socialists, amirite?

I saw the exchange between you and thraashman over that, yes. However, the relevant point is not that they were arrested for being there past 10:00 p.m., but the fact that the incident being referred to took place at the NYC Vietnam Memorial, not the federal one in DC. Whatever the reasons for the arrests, they had zero to do with the federal shutdown.

That point has already been clarified.

Do you have anything to contribute about a park being open to a special interest group while other parks remain closed to the general public?

Nah - Obama was personally omnipresent at all national parks, unrolling red tape and smacking around vietnam vets while fist bumping illegals, because he's a Kenyan-born socialist communist extremist Muslim fascist dictator mini-Hitler hell bent on destroying the rich old white guy society.

OK, so he personally didn't do it, but your seriously going to argue either that he doesn't know or doesn't approve?
