Just wait until his grandson looks under the bed, finds the gun, and starts shooting people.

Congrats on winning the Stupid Post of the Day award.

Yep, it is stupid when innocent people die because of misconcealed guns.

It's also stupid when people completely overstate a problem and blow it out of proportion. More kids die in swimming pools than from gun accidents. LOTS more. Should we outlaw them as well? More kids die riding bikes. Guess no kid should be allowed near a bike. Those deaths are just as senseless and preventable.

Yet here we have an instance of a person who was physically incapable of defending himself against a physically superior attacker. A gun saved his life and all you can do is harp on the same bogus negativity that the stats just don't bear out.

If you're that concerned about kids, there is a whole laundry list of things you have to eliminate that cause far more carnage to children before you get to guns.

Besides, what does your anti-gun mantra have to do with an old man who lives alone?

Safter swimming pools and safter bikes are needed then.

You didn't think that through very well did you?

Hacp, stop. You're now in the 'what if' and frankly that debate could go on pointlessly forever. What is important is this man had this load and concealed weapon for several decades with no accidental deaths or firings and then it saved his life. I think that defines responsible use, (maybe not the best, but he was clearly living alone and without grandchildren).

Preventable deaths are just that, preventable. Thats why we have seatbelt laws.

What happened to forgiveness? No matter how severe the sin, there is always room to forgive.

When you show compassion for the assailant, you show contempt for the victim.

I thought God makes judgment on that sort of thing.

The old guy made a quick decision - protect myself against a dangerous intruder on my turf. Bang.

But damn, come on, a 24 year old punk robbing the elderly? Enjoy your complimentary bullet, dumbass.

IF he shot him in the throat..thats pretty crazy he was able to talk to the police and say he got what he deserved.

That kid definitely got what he deserved. He made a poor decision, and a very conscious one (Probably to scared to go for a younger victim). People that attack the apparent weak and defenseless should get a complimentary bullet.

If you enter my home and don't put your hands on your head, you're gone.

12 gauge in the bedroom, 9mm in the office, and a .22 in the basement. I would not even feel a bit bad shooting someone who entered my home, let alone beat me.

Afrackingmen. Nothing happened to that ROBBER that he didn't volunteer for, while this poor old man was brutally attacked in the privacy of his own home.

Again, what happened to forgiveness? Its not always easy to forgive.
