8GB
Horizon Forbidden West 3060 is faster than the 2080 Super despite the former usually competing with the 2070. Also 3060 has a better 1% low than 4060 and 4060Ti 8GB.

Resident Evil Village 3060TI/3070 tanks at 4K and is slower than the 3060/6700XT when ray tracing:

Company Of Heroes 3060 has a higher minimum than the 3070TI:

10GB / 12GB

Reasons why still shipping 8GB since 2014 isn't NV's fault.
  1. It's the player's fault.
  2. It's the reviewer's fault.
  3. It's the developer's fault.
  4. It's AMD's fault.
  5. It's the game's fault.
  6. It's the driver's fault.
  7. It's a system configuration issue.
  8. Wrong settings were tested.
  9. Wrong area was tested.
  10. Wrong games were tested.
  11. 4K is irrelevant.
  12. Texture quality is irrelevant as long as it matches a console's.
  13. Detail levels are irrelevant as long as they match a console's.
  14. There's no reason a game should use more than 8GB, because a random forum user said so.
  15. It's completely acceptable for the more expensive 3070/3070TI/3080 to turn down settings while the cheaper 3060/6700XT has no issue.
  16. It's an anomaly.
  17. It's a console port.
  18. It's a conspiracy against NV.
  19. 8GB cards aren't meant for 4K / 1440p / 1080p / 720p gaming.
  20. It's completely acceptable to disable ray tracing on NV while AMD has no issue.
  21. Polls, hardware market share, and game title count are evidence 8GB is enough, but are totally ignored when they don't suit the ray tracing agenda.
According to some people here, 8GB is neeeevaaaaah NV's fault and objective evidence "doesn't count" because of reasons(tm). If you have others please let me know and I'll add them to the list. Cheers!

Enjoy Hub's take on 8GB for 5k series cards from Nvidia. "How much?" If it plays in your language that is. Youtube has decided some of us can only watch it in Spanish, Italian, Portugese or French. Though watching the two of them complain in espanol about nvidia could be fun.

£300 for a card that struggles to max out 1080p on not-even-current games? I think they've had their heads in the exhaust fumes of the GPU industry for too long.

They didn't say that? They said they conceded to US$300 (£236) for the current gen, and said US$200 for the next generation is what it should be.

Currency conversion is an interesting thing, but in my experience it boils down to USD = GBP with regard to electronics.

GeForce 4070 Super on Amazon US

GeForce 4070 Super on Amazon UK

Quelle surprise.
I'm not getting your point. It's US$599.97 from the US, and £499.99 in the UK. That's definitely a little margin on top, but not crazy.

You're missing the bigger point though, they didn't say $300 should be the max for an 8GB 5000-series card, they should $200 should be.

Says here on both 599.99... loaded it in a spare browser, same...

I'll concede that I didn't listen far enough into the clip, I got as far as "was it 200 or 300, I think we conceded 300".

Weird, not for me.

Is your GBP599 price tax in? That would make sense, since the US price is before tax.

In the UK, unless you're running a website that's meant exclusively for VAT registered businesses, then VAT (sales tax) is always included.
Yeah, but VAT goes to the treasury, not the retailer, so that's just your tax system at work.

You'd think a 7900XTX would be sufficient for Full Ray Tracing Min since it's more or less on par with a 4070 in RT.
yeah, but anyway systems are brutal for 60 fps at 1080p ultra need 4090 + FG, also 720P LOW+ FG 60 fps is RTX 4070
and yeah seems without RT seems game more friendly with AMD, would be interesting too see RDNA4 in RT mode

in simple RT mode is AMD faster? LOL
looks that way.

Definitely path tracing. Jensen is probably going to sell RTX 50 series based on path tracing improvements

Nvidia sticks it to GTX owners again. RIP
It’s time for GTX owners to upgrade I think, even RX 6000 series has better RT than those cards, after all this game is made with PS5/XBsX in mind. I doubt Nvidia had a say in forced RT spec. Probably something the lead for Machine Games enforced, although the path tracing mode is on Nvidia.

That being said a GTX 1080 Ti can definitely run these games, maybe a non-RT patch after a few weeks, after the marketing blitz is done.

Nvidia throwing its own 8GB RTX card owners under the bus by specifying minimum 12GB for FULL raytracing which I assume can only mean pathtracing. At least the 4060 Ti 16GB owners should be able to get minimum 30fps with Full RT and reducing other graphical settings. That extra $100 they spent is now going to prolong their investment while the 8GB "smart" people are totally screwed :D
