Thugs don't u think that upping the core voltage by 0.22v (1,5-->1.72) is too much for the cpu? Aren't u worried? What is the max limit your ASUS gives u?

Up 0.2v is not really that bad because there are many o/cer out there who did a wire trick to get 0.4v...what this wire trick does is that it give you 0.2v more to your default voltage...so you can overclock it even more...but i don't suggest doing this unless you have a good cooler and AC3...I myself is waiting for AC3 and a not bended TT volcano 7+

dbal 1.72v is just fine by me. my temps are very low, i aint worried. the board goes upto 1.775v max.

SupermanCK actually there are 4 different wire tricks - 1.7v, 1.75v, 1.8v 1.85v. the 1.7v and 1.85v are the easier ones to do.

😀

anyone have any info on Turbo1 or Turbo2 settings?

OH YEAH...I forgot to mention that...read it all in virtual-hideout and hexus.net
btw thug, did you up your voltage for your mem?
i haven't done any mem test yet @ 150fsb...i might as well tonight...anyone know how long does Memtest 2.9 test takes?

SupermanCK im using PC2700 ram @ 333DDR Cas222 - i dont need to boost mem voltage. its @ 2.5v.

been running Prime95 today - 5:15:00 and still going strong 🙂

Hhhmmmmm......Running Prime95 for 6 hours already without a hinch @166FSB at this temp? This is reaaaaaaaally good scoring Rook! Congrats!

P.S: If it reaches 12+ hours shut it down. We don't need more evidence! 😉

Let it take a nap 😉

still going strong....

08:41:00
cpu temp is 47*C / 47*C max
moboard temp is 29*C (yes i have a 10cfm fan on it)

im gonna stop it @ 10:00:00, if thats ok with everyone?

i dont think i have enough voltage left to make 170fsb THIS stable.
i might go for 167fsb & 168fsb, but for now im just going to enjoy it 🙂

BTW: i am running Turbo1 mode - but i still have no clue as to what it does :Q
...its nothing to do with memory cause sandra scores dont go up.

hmmm, im doubting it locks AGP - that means it would drop me from 88mhz to 72mhz.
but my gaming benchmarks go up?
that doesnt make sense, they should drop with the mhz.
i do believe that it locks the PCI tho.

09:27:32 - good enough for me 😀

FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.4976873836, expected less than 0.4 🙁

I haven't try setting it to turbo-1...i am running everything normal as of now...i tried before when i just got all my parts...but it won't boot after awhile...but perfectly fine at normal except that beeping i get once in awhile

This thread=EVIL!!!

Here I am trying to lead a nice peaceful 1 Ghz T-bird into prime T-bred season and you start this thread. Now i'm try to convince myself I don't NEED one of these.(yeah right)

Now, I was already aware that the 1.6A OC'd very well, but somehow this thread makes it seem so much better. Hence EVIL

BTW, congrats on the killer system! 😀

LOL....

tell me about it demonican!!!

i have a t-bird 1 ghz running at 1.33 ghz... and i was goign to wait for the thoroughbred...

but i think i might have to go with this 1.6a o/c system 🙂

So it gave an error @9.5 hours? Don't worry rook-it reminds me of my case but it proved very stable so far. After all 9 hour successful run is already a very good score! 😉

thx for all the big smiles guys 😀

im more then happy with 9+ hours on prime95.
the system is still running great. im extreamly happy with it 😀

im sure it wont be too long before i start going for 167, 168, 169fsb - id really like to get it to 2700mhz 🙂

again - this is right out of the box!
* no wire tricks
* no water cooling
* not even a high dollar HSF!

thx again for everyones interest and support 😀
