at this point, IMHO 166fsb is 100% stable @ 1.69v (1.7v setting).

im not a big fan of Prime95, but just out of curiosity i let it run for 2 hours - error free.
i wont add voltage, kill my system, or go crazy over Prime95 - but eventually i will let it run for as long as it can. ill post those results when completed.

i also ran some of those promised HD benchmark in hopes of finding out if there is a 1/5 PCI divider somewhere. the results showed nothing obvious, but does hint that there may actually be a 1/5 divider at 166fsb and maybe even 150fsb. ill keep trying to get more info on that.

I totally agree with you thugs-u know Prime gave an error in my o/c after 7 hours bit I don't care much either since for 5 days now it's been extremely stable in heavy use plus the all night run of 3DMark2001. I would be 1000%confident if Prime was ok for 12hours + but it's ok. 100% confidence is also enough for me! :D;)

Will do :) I also read a lot of good stuff about overclocking the Samsung PC2700 and that's why I elected to go with that over the XMS2700 from Corsair (also because it's cheaper too) and if I can get the same overclock for cheaper, well I'm there ;)

Removing the 'aluminum foil' (i.e. graphite thermal transfer sheet) did not destroyed the HS. As long as you are using a thermal compound it should be OK.

SupermanCK no beeping as of yet. (except for the single "beep" while booting) ill msg you if it ever does.

BTW: you can use an LED light insted of a speaker ;)

i know alot of ppl that hate hearing that speaker but still want to be able to recieve visual msgs from it.
i had them hookup one of their xtra case LEDs (HD2 or 3 etc) to the board insted of the speaker - they are much happier with it that way.

I think i rather do that cause i am sick of the beeping...and i want to play around with the FSB at night...but I can't cause my gf is sleeping most of the time

no no no - you have it backwords.

take a case LED and plug the leads into the same 2 connections that the speaker used on the board.
the LED leads will need to be the "split" type so they can spread 4 pins away from each other. (like the speaker) take a looksee in the manual, youll see what i mean.

i guess you dont have the "split" type huh? ;)

cut the wires and splice them together so the LED has the speakers connector. doesnt matter which wire goes to which.

<< UPDATE >>
altho i was 100% stable w/1.69v, on a whim i decided to up the vcore another notch giving me 1.72v. i re-ran all my benchmarks and they all ran faster - so ill leave it here @ 1.72v :D

i also tested the Normal/Turbo1/Turbo2 options in the bios.
Turbo1 mode ran noticibly faster in all benchmarks.
Turbo2 mode ran noticibly slower in all benchmarks.

im still not certain, but i think Turbo1 may have "PCI lock", and Turbo2 may have "PCI & AGP lock". being the gamer that i am, im using Turbo1 mode :D

any P4B266 owners have any info on this?
