5870/5850/5770/5750 stocking status

I'll got 5850 from TIGER, ordered 6 days ago and it's backordered, guys from TIGER promiced it for next week.

Right now ZZF got 5850 for $280.

Last Wednesday I looked at NE and they had an Asus 5850 in stock. I added it to my basket. After I logged in to buy it was OOS. SofaB.

XFX 5870 is deactivated at Newegg. So I guess that's it for that model - they're all gone. I'm
guessing that there will be a newer model that not a reference design coming out in the future. When that is I don't know. Kind of kicking myself because I wanted one but I guess I'll have to choose a different manufacturer or wait for the newer one, I only hope that it will be this year.

The problem with Newegg is that so many people shop there and they all probably signed up for auto-notify. The second one of the cards comes in stock, everyone flocks to the site and buys it out.

Trying to find either of these cards is really getting frustrating. I am trying to hold out rather than just say to heck with it and buy a GTX of some variety. I will try to resist...

I foolishly canceled my order with ZZF today that had a motherboard and a 5850 because I wanted a different motherboard. Now I can't add the 5850 to my cart again. Damnit!

UPDATE - Managed to get a Diamond 5850 from ZZF. Others may find similar luck.

Wow, looks like the price for the 5850 at Mwave went up again to $289. I'm glad I managed to buy it when it was still $269 and use that $10 coupon.

According to the tracking, mine comes in tomorrow, I can't wait!

It's hard to find them for $259 and $379 now.

We launched with tens of thousands of units in Q3 and into Q4. Admittedly, supply is light right now due to overwhelming demand, but this issue is temporary and will be alleviated quickly. Think in terms of weeks, not months. ....The overwhelming majority of these parts went to the channel.

But in the long term, as in a few weeks, better. At least according to ATI.

I just talked to ZZF. They *do not* have the Diamond 5850s, even though their page says they do. I did place an order for one, but I asked them to axe it. They don't know when they'll have any more.

That Diamond was showing as in stock for a while, I'm guessing it was out of stock pretty much the whole time. I did notice that they finally changed it and it's now OOS on their website.

BTW, I got my Sapphire 5850 from mwave yesterday. I'm excited, but unfortunately I don't have time to install it until the weekend.

Well, I ended up buying an MSI from MWave. It was way overpriced, but I'm an impulsive creature. When I decide that I want something, I want it... Now.

When I called them, the rep on the phone stated that there were 10 units in the building. I'm gonna venture an educated guess that this was not BS, because I have a tracking # on a package now. I'll have a 5850 next week.

It's good that ZZF de-listed that Diamond card. I was a CSR myself, once, many years ago, so when I talked to the ZZF rep I calmly and courteously explained to him why it might be a Really Good Idea to get that SKU de-listed before his dept. got flooded with angry calls. Maybe he passed that wisdom up to his supervisor.

Yeah, but those only last for like 5 minutes. Right when they're posted, they're sold out. I've been waiting weeks on those sites. There's no local stores that carry video cards like that where I live, they'd have to order it in from one of these sites for me. Hopefully Newegg's next shipment will have more than last time, it's frustrating when you go to order it and they're all gone.
