I personally think everything 3com makes besides their NIC's is crap.
However, there are several counties in central TX that use 3com gear for their VoIP stuff, and to my knowledge they haven't had any problems with it. I'm not endorsing 3com, just thought I'd throw that bit of knowledge out there. I know nothing about the planning that went into the network, only that the network administrator had tons of prior experience with 3com, and she liked them, and the decision was hers to make. Regardless of it being a wise decision or not, they haven't had any problems that I'm aware of.
On another note, I was saddened recently to hear that 3com is acquiring TippingPoint, who has a damn fine intrusion prevention product by the way...probably one of the top three in the market. Stupid Cisco...if they'd acquired them, they'd be positioned well in that market against Juniper, ISS and the other big players. TP's product will go to crap under 3com's leadership, I'd bet money on it.

i don't work for 3Com. it is just a big investment for the company i work for. don't want us 2 get screw. it is going to save us alot of $$. with the saved $$ we can use the for other things. bonus, company party, etc...

Seriously - I didn't realize company parties were more important then the network functioning....

What I don't understand is why some people ask questions only to ignore the answers.
Of course, the parties vs networks priority is kinda confusing too...
Also, this is less than comforting...or would be if I was buying 3Com.
Edit: Unscrewed the link
