Tesla AI-powered!

I am a little worried that I might run into weird issues using FSD regardless. For example, on my drive home yesterday, I got a "Left Fender Camera Blocked" warning that popped up, but it was a nice, sunny day. I don't know if Tesla has fully transitioned over to the vision-only setup, but I know that they want to do that. Although, it could also just be the hardware failing again as I've had a fender camera replaced three times so far (left twice, right once). :p

Well, that was certainly not what I expected. On a drive earlier, I had someone brake quickly in front of me, and it set off the Foward Collision Warning alert (no AEB), and I wondered what what would do to my safety score. Well, turns out it was a lot worse than I expected, because I did not have one FCW event... I had 101. Even yesterday, with absolutely zero audible warnings, I still had 101 on a single 15 minute drive resulting in a score of 72 for the day. Every other day has been around 95-99, and now my combined score is less than 80 due to having a ZERO for today.

Honestly, I'm not even entirely sure what's causing this glut of warnings. This is during the trip from work to home, which is the same route as the other days. I think the only difference was in the amount of traffic being much higher yesterday than before. I do notice how there are times when the visualizer will freak out and constantly swap between proximity warning view and the standard driving view, which makes me wonder if the system will start penalizing me if I start moving when it thinks I'm too close.

That number is per 1,000 miles, so if you trigger one on a short drive day... yeah. you're boned. Mine triggered one in a complete asinine scenario yesterday, but it was on AP so it didn't count. Still rocking a 100 score.

*This* triggered an FCW... hah.

That reminds me of how I was driving along a decently sized road (i.e. not too narrow or anything), and all of a sudden, my proximity warnings started going off like I was about to hit something. Although, as alluded to, there was absolutely nothing around me!

Went to take a bit of a long drive to get some more miles in to helpfully bring my score back up, but I found out... the drive is attributed to the day when the drive ended. Even though I stopped for a few minutes prior to 12 AM, the entire drive (~45 miles) was attributed to today instead of yesterday.

Also, for the drive home yesterday, I turned my Forward Collision Warning from Late to Medium, which is what Tesla uses to gauge whether to penalize you. Even though I never received any audible indication, I was dinged for one on the way home. I'm rather curious about it because I've left it on the Late setting for quite a long time, and the only time I usually get them is if I don't slow down when someone is turning in front of me. The car will still perceive the vehicle (that is mostly out of the way) as an obstacle and warn me even though it (arguably) isn't necessary.

The start of the rollout has supposedly been delayed until this Friday. I read that they want to give it out to people based upon their safety score where the highest scorers get it first, and it will occur in waves of 1000. It's kind of a bummer to have paid for the feature over three years ago, and I'll be stuck waiting an inordinate amount of time due to Tesla's inane metrics.

Still rocking a 100 score.

Every time I drive, I wonder how people can manage to keep a perfect score. It would be a bit easier if I avoided interstates as the part of my commute that takes place on the interstate tends to be the worst. People around here just sort of drive in whatever lane they want and have no qualms about moving over right in front of you -- regardless of whether you're going faster than them. When I was messing with some of the numbers via their estimator, I did notice that changing hard braking from 5% to 2.5% would raise me up 10 points.

Went down to a showroom this morning and placed and order for a M3P with FSD. Configured for Midnight Silver Metallic and black interior. They are 'saying' November delivery. They had a beautiful Plaid sitting there in the same colors, but I didn't have $125K for it. :p

But I was told by the fanboys in this very thread like a year ago that the “full rewrite” is actually a good thing. Maybe they should listen to people who actually know WTF they are talking about rather than swallow Elon’s BS fake news and marketing like they always do.

Dang, scathing information if true on Autopilot:

I guess the acid test is pretty simple: let's see if the team stays intact over the next six months or so...

Like this moron knows anything. lol. He's just a moron who sold his TSLA stock at $60 a share before the big run up and have been bitter ever since. Listening to TSLAQ moron like him will rot your brain and is extremely harmful to your bank account. You will literally go broke if you follow these stupid people.

lol. And here's the moron who wanted to short TSLA when it was $60. Your stupidity and inaction saved you from sure financial ruin. Perhaps you should watch Tesla AI day before talking about things you know nothing about so you can get a clue. Forgive me if I trust Lex Fridman opinion over your worthless opinion. lol.

I have literally never talked about shorting Tesla ever you fucking dolt, in real life or on this forum. Must be tough getting old and having nothing to think about to keep your mind sharp. I did tell your dumb ignorant ass that their self driving tech wouldn’t be ready in 2019, or in 2020, to which your response was crying like a little bitch about how wrong I am as usual. And look here, it’s not ready because as I told you then, their engineers aren’t magic and there is no secret Tesla sauce. It’s hilarious actually working on this stuff and then reading posts from pissants on internet forums without a clue. Keep it up please.

Way to call the bottom! lol. It must burn you up that I was right, and you were wrong. I follow Tesla because I have millions invested in the company. What's your sorry excuse to constantly try to talk down Tesla and their amazing achievements?

Go ahead. Tell us again what amazing smart person you are and how you're so much smarter than everyone in the room including Elon and Tesla and how your work is so more advanced. :D

Damn you keep some serious tabs on me, creepy. Way to quote an obvious troll post that continues to trigger you two years later 🤣

I talk down on them because I find their fanboy shills pathetic, and the company and CEO irresponsible and immoral. You were right about the stock price, good for you and that’s not my concern or care. I have been right every time about the state of their AI (and of course every time you pop in with some sorry whining and youtube “expertise” lol) which is my concern. Trust me, I don’t need to care about Tesla stock but do need to know how to build an automated control system and spec its sensor package :)

Maybe the useless leeches should GTFO and skip their questionable Twitter proofs to make their TESLAQ mob happier?

Edit: forgot ?

"You just don't get it." If you had good timing and incredible luck to make millions off TSLA stock, that instantly qualifies you as a BEV and AI expert. Also gives you the latitude to direct ad hominem attacks at other forum members who weren't so lucky at market timing.

Remember, stock markets are forward looking and perfectly predictive. There is no doubt that the quality of Tesla's AI will sync up with its stock chart.

NM is one of those good ole boy states. Screw them.

Dude in all honesty it boggles my mind. From 2019: "Some 385,000 people worldwide died prematurely in 2015 from air pollution caused by vehicle exhaust emissions". And here we are blocking the sales of electric vehicles in AMERICA! Like, I understand politics, I understand Tesla-hate, Musk-hate, etc., but c'mon. It's 2021 & we're BLOCKING the sales of electric vehicles? Really??

Didn't get in the first wave of that because I just hadn't put the miles on the car required. I would have, had they actually communicated the requirements beforehand, but....

I've since rectified that, so in a few days I should be able to see just how... special... the current state of the beta is.

I don't have a commute, and only need to drive if I feel like it.

I read earlier today that vehicles with AP2.0 will need a camera upgrade for FSD. I'm pretty sure mine is AP2.5 with the AP3.0 computer, so I don't know if I need to do anything?

I don't have a commute, and only need to drive if I feel like it.

Ah, that would be nice. In that case, I could avoid the worst times of the day! I've brought my score back up quite a bit to around an 89 last I checked. Right now, I do still get hit a bit for hard turns and hard braking more often than I'd like. The latter seems problematic because it's not like I'm braking hard enough to push things forward, and even though Tesla suggests to avoid getting dinged over it by using regenerative braking, I almost always use regenerative braking and use the brake to come to a complete stop. I kind of want to get a G-meter to see when I go over 0.4G during a turn so I understand how much that is.
