Sure they do, they're actually angry that their attempts at fucking up voting isn't working.

Except she's arguing that the Pubs did not appeal enough to the extreme desires of their wack a doodle base. I say KEEP DIGGING!

I still remember the immediate days after Obama steamrolled Romney and the soul searching right wing media did. Literally on air they were going "maybe our horrible policies are making us look bad?" I seem to remember one of them going "maybe our policies actually are racist and that's obviously not a good look?" It was almost endearing watching them try at self reflection. That lasted only a few days before they decided that no, in fact it was because they weren't being horrible enough. We saw a similar micro version of that in the Jan 6th.

But the thing is, this is like the 500th time they've pulled this shit. They're never gonna change. And its not gonna go away. Even if they face consequences the mentality will persist so we will have to always be vigilant and push back on their bullshit.

Psychobabble in a conservative bubble that doubles as an echo chamber requires a circular firing squad and gestapo tactics to root out the traitors in their midst who, as far as the general public is informed, invariably turns out to be (take your pick) Antifa, socialist LGBTQ heathen, anti-gun rights fanatics and far left godless socialist fascist liberals after all is said and done, because blaming themselves is impossible as an ideological entity, especially when the leader of their party is the quintessential example of a guilty beyond doubt criminal that considers himself immune from culpability of crimes he obviously committed, even those that he had on occasion personally admitted to.

Sowing confusion, doubt, suspicion and fear is the Republican way of life to get their way. Kari Lake is simply acting out that feature of the party. It must be pretty scary for Repubs nation-wide that they're losing more elections in red states even though they're cheating their way toward victories as much as they possibly can.

Looks like a lot of folks are fed up with this modus operandi of the GOP and is sending them a message that's loud and clear. This represents a "clear and present danger", an existential threat to the "Patriotic Party of God" (lol) that obsessively blesses the wealthy with tax cuts while making every effort to eliminate those essential social services and benefits to the middle class and the poor that previous Democrat administrations enacted.

Propagandizing guns, God and grievances is becoming less and less of a winning strategy for the Repubs. The problem they have with that is they have not much else to offer the nation and the younger generations of the nation are realizing this more and more as time goes by.

That's kinda a matter of perspective. That literally the worst Senate candidate in modern history came that "close" is pretty damn sad. If he had garnered just 1.5% more of the vote, Walker narrowly wins. I'm glad Georgia is now nearly a purple state, but that hardly makes up for all the deep red states out there. Before I felt that demographic changes would relegate the GOP to second class status by 2035ish. Now it feels more like 2050 if the electorate continues on its current path.

North Carolina was "nearly a purple state" only 10 years ago.

Don't get so excited about these things. When the GOP feels threatened, we know that their long and documented history sees them whittling away the tenets of democracy and law in order to institute their perpetual minority control over all things. They aren't going to sit around and just let things happen legally or based on constitutional principals. All of our laws are generally inconvenient for them, so they will fight to end the US until their fingers are bloody nibs, as long as they can establish perpetual theocratic, monarchist control over the United States. This is really no secret.

He in fact did not call it early, haha.

It's pretty common for people to call an election win for a candidate who is currently behind. They make calls based on where outstanding votes are, not the current tally. In the end it wasn't particularly close.

Hell, the MD governor's race was called the second the polls closed.

"With 0 precincts reporting, 0 votes counted, Wes Moore is declared the winner."

Literally no one challenged that.

The runoff is long over, but Herschel Walker did give an eloquent concession speech. Unlike Donald Trump and that crazy lady Keri Lake. For Walker, in his concession speech wasn't all about me me me or blame blame blame. Quite the opposite of Donald Trump.
People are saying, including liberals, that if only Waker could have spoken as well during the campaign as in his concession then maybe he could have done better. There was quite a contrast between the candidate Walker and the humble defeated Walker. And I wanted to know why?

Well, I think during this campaign Walker was too beholden to Donald Trump, and to the MAGA looneys like Marjorie Taylor Greene. I really don't think Walker was one of them, and if he had been elected Walker might have been nothing at all like them which would have pissed MAGA off. People might have felt that Walker was a Clearance Thomas black man, but I think Walker was none of that. Walker was more of the black man you would have expected in a black man, a black man who was proud and humbled by his ancestry.

I just feel Walker was torn between pretending to be who Donald Trump expected, and who Walker really was. He was better than Trump and may have done a lot better without Trump, but that's hard to say because then Walker would have risked losing the MAGA loonies. A fine line to walk indeed. I think Walker deserves another chance in some way in some form in the future. Serving in congress I feel Walker would have been much more liberal and progressive than anyone could have imagined. Walker could have been the republicans version of Joe Manchin.

But I feel sorry for the guy. Walker was certainly an outsider to the MAGA world and felt he had to fall in line, to fit in, considering the endorsement from Donald Trump. And that was his downfall. I think his heart and mind was in the right place, for progressive ideology. And if not for Trump and Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham leading Walker around d by the nose, the true Walker may have shown through as it did in the end.

NC is still a purple, or slightly red-leaning state. It's arguable that we should be pouring more resources into NC's competitive state-wide races.

If you read my post, you'll notice I'm the opposite of excited about the current state of political affairs. I still believe the GOP is too toxic to manage the ongoing demographics changes. But like I said, it seems like there are enough idiot voters choosing politicians that will actively harm the electorate's self interests that the timeline for GOP comeuppance is being stretched out. Part of it is the Trumpist effect of flipping struggling White Midwesterners to the party that's been trickling up wealth for the past 4 decades.

What would be disastrous for progressives is if the GOP ever chose to become a big tent party, and actually revised its platform to benefit the middle class. It's hard to see this actually happening, so I don't worry about it too much.

Nice to have a good laugh first thing in the morning.

Kari Lake mocked for story about UPS driver “devastated” that “they stole another election” from her | Salon.com

Yea. Do what Herchel did.

For the pile on.

“Desperate and delusional”: Legal experts rip Kari Lake's “poorly written” election lawsuit | Salon.com

"It is poorly written, frankly," Democratic election attorney Jim Barton told the Arizona Mirror. "It's so long and meandering. I think the underlying claims are terrible and the lawsuit is terrible and it's, frankly, embarrassing that this kind of thing can get filed."

Maybe the Bars of this country need to raise the bar.

I'm sure Republicans are going to conduct a sober assessment of what caused their losses in this cycle and make sensible adjustments in messaging and candidate quality to win over more voters...

...or probably not.

I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, communist subversion, and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

The smartest thing McConnell did was not offer a platform. Republican policies are very unpopular so of course you don't want to highlight them to the voters!

Really the lesson is to run fewer weirdos but they seem to be hearing that as "we need more and weirder weirdos".

Exactly my first thought.

This obsession with testosterone on the right... Ball tanning, raw liver eating, supplements...

It's just so so so weird.

Then their leaders are the most unmanly men you could possibly think of.

Lack of personal responsibility, emotional and conspiratorial hysteria, sloth, lying, cheating, stealing, general dishonor and treachery.

I certainly hope this is the end of it. She needs to just go away already. She'll appeal no doubt, and hopefully the appeals court will laugh her out the door. She's not the only idiot Republican who ran in AZ refusing to concede either. The Sec. of State and AG GOP candidates also got shot down in court trying to refute the results.

She doesn't expect to win the suits. She wants to gain enough notoriety to get picked up as a Fox talking head. IMHO, that was the whole point of her run. If she won, okay, she does Governor for a stint and then goes to Fox. Since she lost, straight to Fox. The problem is that her suit is old news and it isn't getting her the publicity bump she needs.
