My early bets for GOP 2024 nominees are

Trump
DeSaantis
Haley
Younkin
Scott. Not the black one

With that kind of field Trump will have the advantage because of his loyal MAGA base. Crowded field is to his advantage. One on one he would lose

What would be a major difference if Dems control the Senate vs the GOP, when the GOP controls the House? I guess there's judicial appointments they can confirm and Biden won't have to veto.
Veto what? He sends them candidates and they have to approve.

GOP taking the Senate would mean

Ukraine is fucked
No more Biden judges

If GOP take the House I hope they package up all the investigations and move them to the Senate or assign a special prosecutor

This is also another signal to people who are interested in/worried about another Trump presidential run. The guy is electorally toxic. Without Trump, Republicans probably do much better last night.
It is another sign that our system is incredibly easy to rig (via map drawing) and once in power it can be impossible to dislodge a party.

This is very true - Wisconsin is the perfect example of a purple state that Republicans have gerrymandered into a situation where they can't lose.

Was hoping for a better turn out, more of a repudiation of Team Treason, but what I'm seeing ain't too horrible I suppose. Makes me hopeful for 2024.

I really wanted to see Oz lose, and he did. That pisshead Boebert losing is fantastic, congrats to Colorado for ditching that moron who did nothing but embarrass you folks. I bet that felt great.

Matt Gaetz got relected, and given the Florida panhandle I am not surprised in the least. More surprised how Georgians can vote for a delusional crazy person with CTE.

I think it’s amazing Dems did this well despite all the gloomy economic headlines. Gas still costs $4.30 where I’m at.

The Saudis definitely tried to affect this election. Gas was down to the low three bucks and trending down and then they made their politically angled decision to cut production and now gas is closer to four bucks again.

If Dems get together as a block in the Senate they could pass voting reform and end politically gerrymandered districts but we still have those monkey wrenches called Manchin and Sienma

Ukraine is already fucked if they just take the house. There will be little to no spending authorized involving weapons support now.

I thought because this is foreign policy this kind of funding can come from Senate but I could be wrong

Big if true.

That Gen Z, and hopefully future young generations, are voting.
Yup, there's hope... I was wondering. I'm feeling so relieved this morning! It feels miraculous. Got a decent night's sleep too! Best news (not surprising) is the young saved the day. You knew the blacks were going Demo already, you figure the young would some, but to that degree? That's stark. R's take notice, you've lost the future when the older you are the more apt you are to walk through the door of your now Trump-infested edifice.

We're going to pass more money in the lame duck and if the GOP majority is say 10 votes it is very unlikely their leadership could prevent it from being attached to budget legislation.

The dude in the Kremlin did not have a good night.

America is Ukraine's biggest benefactor, not the sole benefactor. Regardless of what happens in the US, Team Treason to take over in 2024 for example, countries like Poland, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, basically anyone who still has the bad Soviet taste in their mouths, will continue on helping Ukraine. I don't believe the repugs can do anything about the support Biden has just sent them either, which is a lot.

I'm seeing 220-215 give or take 3 ...

It'll still have to go through hurdles/delays that currently don't exist. That lack of expediency could turn into real battlefield issues.

Agree it was worse for Vlad than say a +40 GQP majority where nothing would ever get through. But this result is still way worse for Ukraine that what has been the case in the last ~8 months.

If Putin can't get the money turned off and for good he's kinda fucked. He needed a good break and really didn't get much of one. He's been hopping from hope to hope for some chance to salvage his dreadful situation which does not appear to be paying off.
