Doesn't mention being in favor of hand grenades. Taj is disappoint.
Yeah, but he's against graffiti on statutes of traitors to this country, so its all good.
Communist revolution? Wtf?
I generally agree. I think Biden will provide a temporary reprieve but the odds of continuing down this path are extremely high. The US is dying. Every institution from SCOTUS down to county canvasser is corrupted with Republican politics and malfunctioning. The Constitution is no match for it, since the courts are sick with it too. Make no mistake, this is what collapse of an empire looks like, when the institutions are broken and can't be fixed within the system.

The main issue is that the Republican Party values getting its way more than it values our system of government. This has been true for a long time but what Trump really did is expose how weak our system has become. It turns out if you rampantly break the law, violate your oath of office and abuse your powers the penalty for this is...nothing. This was the problem that I mentioned during impeachment - that other people would notice this if Trump wasn’t removed.
Maybe the saddest part about this is that our system was irreparably harmed not in the service of some grand cause, but just to protect a sad, venal steak salesman’s ability to try and cheat the election system.

The complicit SCOTUS has made GOP like a spoiled child once they gutted voting rights and greenlit partisan gerrymandering, and also their doctrine that legislatures have unchecked power to pick electors. They have emboldened people like Trump to exploit every weakness of the Constitution by suspending common sense and democratic values. GOP now feels entitled to ignore the will of the people. What I want to know before it all burns down....is who the heck is advising Trump to make all these moves? We know he certainly doesn't have that kind of strategy of knowledge of the weak links in our system. Who is shadow Presidenting in the background? Is this Stephen Miller and/or Bannon all along?
It is the logical next step in their steady rejection of democracy. The complicit SCOTUS has made GOP like a spoiled child once they gutted voting rights and greenlit partisan gerrymandering, and also their doctrine that legislatures have unchecked power to pick electors. At what point does trying to invalidate or throw out votes become sedition? This is getting ridiculously transparent what he is trying to do.
It never will be recognized as sedition with our rigged judiciary, because then they'll have to admit which side of the sedition they have been on.At what point does trying to invalidate or throw out votes become sedition? This is getting ridiculously transparent what he is trying to do.
Sure, that's one way to look at it. But that's how you destroy countries, by having them split in half and living in their separate and incompatible realities. One interesting point I read, independent of Republicans being worried about a primary election for upholding the founding principles of democracy, is that they may view it as strategically valuable to never really admit the election as legitimate in a way to 'birther' Biden.
I could totally see them doing that for the next four years - 'I take the secretaries of state at their word but we all know there was a ton of fraud and a lot of irregularities. I doubt we'll ever really know who won.'
It sure is!Sure, that's one way to look at it. But that's how you destroy countries, by having them split in half and living in their separate and incompatible realities.

Wouldnt it be funny if the guy that STOLE GA gov by leveraging administration of the election to suppress the vote .... helped Trump flip a presidential election?
I mean. Ha ha ha ha. Oh man. Funny times.

Voter roll purges... if anyone can do it its KEMP!!!!
A temporary reprieve is exactly what Biden is. To my mind this is the perfect time to leave; there will be a lot of relieved people who think "bad times are over" now that Trump is gone. I think he's just the latest, worst boil on a festering fat country that has lost its way. Potentially less competition for jobs elsewhere if less Americans flee now.
Leaving would not be easy for me, at my age with a family and my wife's home reality-based business. My kids and wife are not as decided as I am as far as what this country has become. I'm not going to leave them at current levels of decay and I can't (won't) force people to go at this point. I'd really, really like to though. Too many alternate-reality people here for my comfort. They are everywhere, but we seem to have more.
