WAS might have gotten the 2nd too if they did that deal last year. As it was when Cousins started this season he wasn't very good. Browns might have lucked out on this one in spite of themselves.

Washington was stupid not to make the trade. They knew in their heart of hearts that he wasnt the answer and they devalued him though I watched a few games and I actually liked what I saw from him early in games when the offense had balance and his play action game was actually pretty good and clean. When he was forced to throw downfield just like Hoyer things went sour. If Kirk has a good running game and he goes to a play action run heavy team like the Texans he would be perfect fit. If I was a Texan I would throw a third rounder no more for him. At least hes experienced and isnt a green rookie. I would take him over Cutler in chicago.

Revis said he considered his deal a one year deal with the signing bonus spread out over two years and thinks he could get more than the 20 million he would make this year after the sucness of the SB. Hes probably right thought I am starting to think that NO player is worth these cap hits. They are team killers even at 140 million for the cap.

Offensive lineman on NFL network right now at combine. Couple players look really good. TJ Clemmings had really good athleticism for a guy his size. His lateral quickness and movement were starting LT quality. Jake Fisher had really good athleticsm for his size and is grading out as a really good RT. Cameron Erving moved really well and had qood quickness in his 10 yard split. Andy gallic looks stiff but moves ok. Good center prospect but Erving is quickly moving up in the second and may get into the first since he can play any position.

Ereck Flowers had tightness in his hips and may fall a little and a few long armed guys didnt do so well in the bench press. He did better in his second time trough the agility drills.



Jeremy Lane has a torn ACL as well as arm injury. Man tough luck

hell yes on the OL picks though they are quickly becoming less sleepers and more solid prospects.


I think this years draft is ALMOST as good as last year in elite talent and better than last year on depth and flavors.

Instead of finding means to privately fund stadiums in the cities they are already located in , which has an already established fan base, they'd rather say thanks for building us a stadium out of the taxpayers pocket, but if you don't build us another one we're outta here.

The Braves did the fame thing with their current stadium. Even though it was essentially free to them because it was originally built for the Olympics, they said it's not good enough and made the taxpayers of another county foot the majority of the bill to build them another one.

The bolded is a claim that is notoriously difficult, if not impossible to quantify. But it is a claim that serves, far more than any other use, for politicians to toss out as a bromide to the taxpayers to keep them electable.

I have before seen an assumed return-on-value for the simple presence of an NFL team to be essentially negligible--at least, certainly far below the annual cost on taxpayers to actually keep a team, but I can't recall where, tbh. Consider that any private business that exists only because of an individual franchise (say, one that sells hats, t-shirts, trading cards, whatever), is forking over a decent chunk of revenue simply for licensing. You can also consider them subsidized, in a way: They wouldn't exist without the presence of the team, anyway, so their presence really is a wash.

Hotels, bars, entities such as this: any city (outside of isolated Green Bay) large enough to hold an NFL team, has plenty of other options to draw in tourism--other sports franchises, for one--to keep them afloat.

totally agree with you though I actually like the televised draft and the combine this year especially since they are actually showing official times and splits for the first time. Its basically cspan for football. Its not for everyone but I recorded it and have fast forwarded to the players I wanted to see. its more options for the consumer that didnt cost anything. Win win.

When I, as a taxpayer, contribute to the funding of the facility that team uses, you bet I have an vested interest in the team. If the team expects the city it plays in to foot the bill for building the facility, yes I feel the city does have a right to a team.

If the teams feel they can retain a fan base and move city to city because that's the only way for them to make money, more power to them. I will not support a major sports team that does.

Fact remains that a majority of teams never privately fund their facilities. If all 3 teams can move to LA and it doesn't cost the taxpayers anything than more power to them.

Just watched the Jameis Winston interview and the kid just seems young and is trying really hard. He comes off overly confident but hes a young kid figuring it out. Lovie would be a good coach I think I said that a few times earlier this year. If Lovie could get Fat Lance Briggs into a man he can do that for Jameis.


Mariotta could drop with all these Defensive players ascending and these tackles moving up and up. Williams may be picked ahead of him as could Fowler and Shelton. Those guys have such upside that teams dont want to risk their reputations on a qb thats not gonna play for two years.

Dorsett ran a 4.35 for his first leg

DGB ran a 4.5 for his first that much speed at his size is crazy.
Calvin Johnson who hes compared to ran a 4.35 in february but not at the combine. He ran that with his speed coach. I bet DGB has more speed in him in his second.


Chris Conley from Georgia ran a surprising 4.35. Guy has good speed for his size. surprising speed.


Jamison Crowder ran 4.6 will probably hurt his stock. Davaris Daniels son or former bears Philip Daniels ran a slow time as well probably hurting his stock.
