Since he signed the standard waiver before going to the mini camp, they have to continue negotiating in good faith as if he hadn't been injured. The upshot is that he'll get the exact same contract he would have if he hadn't been.

Whether or not Jacksonville has insurance that somehow covers their end of this is another matter, and hasn't been reported.

I think most teams carry insurance against injury. I know it was a big deal when in the NBA when the Pacers lost George after giving him a max contract. It seems like it should be part of your standard operating costs to carry insurance on contracts given how much money even the smallest of them are for.

Dues to the amount of money involved, pretty sure insurance riders are part of just about every contract. With the NFL having the smallest minimum salary, that's still closing in on half a million for a sport that see most lost game time.

As I said earlier though, getting a rider retroactively (at least covering his now lost rookie year) probably not something that will happen so the jags will eat that.

Surprised someone didn't post about it yet, but Michael Sam signs in the CFL after no camp asked him to participate.

Wettle skips start of OTAs, as does Peterson.

McDonald was arrested again? Perhaps, I missed this when it happened, but it looks like he was arrested for violating a restraining order a day or two after the incident. This guy is done. He is a moron.

His lawyer said they never received a restraining order. So unless they can prove he and/or council did receive it that will be thrown out.

Doesn't matter at this point. What team is going to want to put up with that crap?

That is also a change from the original story I heard where he was claiming the person he was restrained from being around was not supposed to be at the house.

Legalize - remember the NFL and teams do not need to follow legal precedent and/or abide by rules of evidence needed for criminal incidents.

The NFL is getting nervous about bad apple image - teams do not want such around if they can help it.

Prime player, possibly; so-so can be shelved/dumped

Oh I do not disagree with that and am not really defending him. Just what I read.

He will need to get really clean and a team will have to take a big chance signing him. With that said he may be done.

Let us know how this works out for you Buffalo.

The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle reports "several people within the organization" believe QB Tyrod Taylor has a chance to be the Week 1 starter.

The Bills have been splitting reps between Taylor, E.J. Manuel, and Matt Cassel at OTAs. A favorite of Rex Ryan, Taylor has flashed starting-caliber tools in preseason games, but his accuracy issues (54.3 career completion-percentage) are well documented. The Bills like Taylor’s ability to run OC Greg Roman’s scheme, where Colin Kaepernick finished behind only Russell Wilson in rushing yards (639) and attempts (104) last year.

Honestly, given the 3, no, 4 QB's on the roster right now... I like Taylor the best out of all of them given the fact that he sat behind Flacco for what, 4 years? Yeah, Cassel sat behind Brady and had a successful season, but he's on the downside of his career and hasn't really been effective anywhere since.
