Holy crap, did you know Zoo (CBS) got renewed? I didn't.

Just saw an add during Person of Interest for the new season. It was watchable, but I didn't think it was incredible. Surprised it got a second season.

The premise is completely ridiculous so you're going to have some people who just can't handle the cognitive dissonance between the stupidity of the idea and a show that treats it as if it could be real. But if you can get past that point, it wasn't horrible. I think I did manage to watch every episode but I was pretty bummed out at the time so I'd have watched just about anything - and did. The real test will be the next season. Will I delete the show w/o even cracking open the video file or will I still be able to tolerate it.

House of Lies to end next month. As it's gotten stupider over the past couple of years I can't say I'm going to miss it.

Early reports are that 'Cat grant' is going to be used sparingly, and that is a good thing.
The mission statement on CBS, was 'I am woman, hear me roar', and it was heavily slanted that way.
They just need to concentrate on getting out a good story, leave out the other BS.

I'd be happy to keep Cat Grant and have them get rid of Jimmy Olsen and Lucy Lane. They are totally superfluous characters in this series, and the love triangle aspect of it is totally forced. There is no chemistry between Supergirl and Jimmy Olsen, and outside that supposed love interest, there is no reason for that character's existence. And without Jimmy Olsen, there is even less reason for the Lucy Lane character's existence in this series.

In contrast, Cat Grant is a fleshed out character, with a unique point of view that complements/contrasts Supergirl's character. Sort of a mentor of sorts. Yeah, they can reduce Cat Grant's exposure too, but if they reduce her exposure, they really should get rid of others even more.

Oh and they should just stop talking about Superman. He's mentioned like every second episode, and sometimes multiple times per episode, even though he never shows up. If you're not going to include the character in the show, then just stop talking about him.

EDIT:

I didn't realize the reason Cat Grant's role is being reduced is because the show is being moved to Vancouver.

That and the CW link now makes a lot more sense, given the strange crossover Flash episode in Supergirl. Both The Flash and now Supergirl are CW and both are shot in Vancouver.

Apparently Calista Flockhart still wants to be in the show, but doesn't want to move to Canada, esp. since she lives in Los Angeles.

/EDIT

---

I'm going to watch Person of Interest until the end, but I'd have to say, this year's season is sub-par, as was last year's. The show really does deserve to end.

They probably own Zoo so it makes them more money.

Why whoever owns Person of Interest won't sweeten the deal and put it on another network also deserves ridicule.

The Americans renewed & cancelled, two more seasons to air.

FX has ordered 13 episodes of The Americans, for season five, and 10 episodes for the sixth and final season.
That seems odd, normally, it is 13 episodes, and the final season is 10?
I am thinking it is going to be extended size episodes for the last season, to make up for the fact there are only 10 of them.

I'm not sure if that'll happen. If there's one thing in common between the CW DC shows, it's oversized supporting casts and unnecessary drama. What you've described is part of both of those.

That and the CW link now makes a lot more sense, given the strange crossover Flash episode in Supergirl. Both The Flash and now Supergirl are CW and both are shot in Vancouver.

I think a lot of those CW shows film in Vancouver including Supernatural, Arrow and The Flash. Although, speaking of that cross-over, I like how Barry completely ignored his interactions with Pied Piper and Banshee when going up against Laurel later on.

I'm going to watch Person of Interest until the end, but I'd have to say, this year's season is sub-par, as was last year's. The show really does deserve to end.

I'm not a huge fan of how they try to turn the machine from a plot mechanic to an actual character on the show.

Wow. One crappy season and hbo cans it? It's an anthology series. You're going to have hits and misses. Are they admitting that they don't have the talent to come close to the heights of season one?
Limitless officially found it's limit.
I'll miss this one, sort of. I liked the humor and the chemistry between the actors. It had a lot going for, except the ratings I guess.

Good.

Lets face it. Even S1 was a bore. It had potential. But the constant musings of McConaughey while he peeled a can of beer got old. The birds circling led to no supernatural-type payoff they seemed to be angling the storytelling.

This show was a lot about dick yanking with no satisfactory finish.....a lot like Lost in that way.

One crappy season can sink it. Even an anthology has continuity, once the viewers think it's shit and tune out they're not tuning back in the next season.

Transparent renewed by Amazon.

Think it was missed since it was a bit dragged out, but ABC finally reupped Last Man Standing.

I wouldn't go that far, but I certainly didn't have the hard on everyone else did for it.

i'm torn

POI is one of my all time favorite shows (and actually the only one i currently watch) so i am sad to see it go

but i have seen way too many shows i liked go to crap after the 3rd, 4th or 5th season

so if they are able to end it now on a really strong note, that may be preferable to going on for more seasons

I love, love that show. I'm going to miss having her go back to her own time but I vaguely remember from when the series started that she's also supposed to go back to Roman times at some point - but I could have been hallucinating that.

I'm disappointed. I actually liked Limitless. Great cast with great chemistry. Excellent leading actor. Yeah, some of the stories were hokey, but it was a heluvalot more interesting than say Quantico IMHO.
