Rams had a damn good 1st round.

No. Rams had a GREAT first round. Very impressive to say the least. They are def. happy with the RG3 trade from last year now.

Vikings had a decent round too.

Packers had a solid pick, although it was a surprise.

Thats the only teams I really paid attention too.

I was so worried that the Raiders were going to waste a pick on Geno in the first round. I'm glad that Reggie knows what he is doing.

The Vikes gave up far too much for a guy that has played 1 year of big time college football (and his stats were really only great against subpar teams). I hope they know what they are doing, because to me it looks like another Troy Williamson situation. At least Troy had 3 years of D1 experience. Stats for final season in college:

Williamson: 43 catches, 835 yards, 7tds
Patterson: 46 catches, 778 yards, 5tds

Ugh, did the Vikings really trade 4 picks for a third first round?

I think I woke up in whackadooland.

I'm coming to terms with this.

First off, giving up the 229th overall pick (out of 254) barely qualifies as "giving up a pick," especially since the Vikings already have two other 7th rounders at 213 and 214.

Secondly, think of the end result - essentially the Vikings gave up 5 picks (if you don't count their late 7th rounder) to get 3 first round players. One of whom was considered the #1 player at his position and a top-5 talent by many analysts.

I think the Vikings made the best move. They got 3 good players without giving up much. They might have already won the best draft award.

Being a Giants fan, I was dissapointed at first but only because ESPN had Pugh listed as G. He will probably play RT and they needed OL help.

When the Bears picked Long I was in the middle of my anti-Te'o dance, so it didn't really register.

After a little research it seems like a good gamble with all of the other OL prospects long gone. I guess this guy has monster potential, and he was in the 1st rd in a few mocks.

Beginning of the second should be real interesting. Everyone has had a day to digest the picks and make talks about trades, and you still have almost all the QBs available as well as a couple highly publicized players.

I saw that they moved Oher to right guard, was he not cutting it at left? If I know one thing about Baltimore, it's that they have Ozzie Newsome, and the guy rarely ever makes bad moves, unlike my Bears GM's. I wish I had trust in my GM like Baltimore does.

Oher was moved to right tackle when the playoffs started and McKinnie took his place on the left side. That switch was huge and was probably the biggest single factor in the Ravens' post-season transformation. Michael Oher is not a good left tackle, don't let the movie fool you.

The Ravens are hosed. Nothing left to trade, too many needs, drafting too low to trade down and amass picks.

The Ravens came into the draft with a dozen picks. They have some flexibility. My hope for tonight is that they can trade away some of their other picks for a second 2nd rounder. Pick up a WR and an ILB in the 2nd round and two of their three biggest holes will be plugged. LT will probably have to dealt with in free agency. Good thing Bryant McKinnie is still unemployed.

My problem with it is this draft is deep at WR. The first two picks they made, I'm very happy with and I think they nailed it. Trading a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th (the 7th I don't really care about) is a LOT to move up and take a WR that's unproven and by reports is "immature". Now we have to wait until the late 4th round for our next pick...so forget about getting a decent ILB that will make an impact day 1. They'll have to settle in free agency, most likely, and struggle at the position like they did last year.

SunnyD: I'd be excited about EJ, he's got incredible talent and potential. Out of the QBs available this year, I think he's the best bet. His biggest issue is ball security, which can be taught in the NFL. He's been compared to Roethlisberger and Culpepper....not bad comparisons.

Jags start it off with S Cyprien, FIU

all the talk seems to be on Jets taking Smith if no one goes before them, and a decent chance no one does.

niners trade down with titans...which is kinda weird unless it involves next year picks as the niners have more than they need already.

And here is the big one, if the Igles don't take a QB, likely to slide to the Jets.

At some point the Niners might actually have to draft a player and not stockpile draft picks :)

Lions go CB Slay, Bengals take RB Bernard. Cards up with last pick before jets.

Chargers take Teo, Jets on the clock.

not a direct replacement to seau, but still going to be living under that legacy.
