Lacey here? If not, history is made

Edit: and history has been made. No RBs in the first for the first time in history. Should have been no QBs too which would have made it even more historic

Holy crap, JAX will get Joeckel and Geno Smith if they want tomorrow. This couldn't have gone any better for them.

The Vikes gave up far too much for a guy that has played 1 year of big time college football (and his stats were really only great against subpar teams). I hope they know what they are doing, because to me it looks like another Troy Williamson situation. At least Troy had 3 years of D1 experience. Stats for final season in college:

Williamson: 43 catches, 835 yards, 7tds
Patterson: 46 catches, 778 yards, 5tds

Here's my take on it. Under the old rules teams felt that if they were going to tie up big bucks on a first rounder they had to do it at an impact position . Now with the new lower salaries they can afford to pick non impact position players in the first round.

Jerry Jones has ruined the NFL for me. I really can't get into teams outside of my area and the cowboys are a lost cause. :(

Just as suspected. :( Didn't watch but woke up to the news we traded down from 18 to 31 from SF. Okay not bad so far. Looks at compensation... A third rounder? According to talk radio a second round pick should have been the compensation. As usual Jerry Jones got the wrong end of the deal. Now as far as the player it looks like he was rated as a second maybe a third rounder we picked in the 1st. Wow.

I woke up this morning, saw the we still drafted the ~5th best QB at 16th in the 1st round before any other QBs went, ignoring other necessary positions of need (namely a guy for that QB throw to), and well *sigh*.

I wonder how much Kolb jerseys are going to be selling for?

Hey... don't feel bad... Buffalo traded down from 8th to 16th, netted a 2nd and a 7th and still drafted a 2nd round QB when the top rated QB's were still on the board.

lol. What is it about bad teams that they can't get out of their own way? Well at least there is some hope for y'all. We will be run into the ground for decades by the Jones' family.

Ugh, did the Vikings really trade 4 picks for a third first round?

I think I woke up in whackadooland.

Detroit o Detroit, why did you not take an O-lineman :( Even though the top 3 were already gone, I still think I would have gone that route instead of this stretch of a pick they did.

pretty weak draft for skill. Luckily Bears picked up best OG on board left. Any ideas where bears will go next? I am thinking linebacker though I hope its not punchiline Teo.

I was pretty pissed when I saw the trade and the pick. The trade still makes me mad but after reading up more on this kid I'm less angry over the pick. At least it addresses one of the biggest problems we've had since Aikman was playing. The kid seems like he's a player and we need help at center and guard, he can and has played both of those at a school that coaches good Olinemen.

Good pick by the Packers. Would have wanted him on the 49ers.

It was a good pick, Packers are always about picking best talent left and not the positions they need...

That being said, they still need a safety, another WR and of course per usual they need to draft a RB this year like every other year.
