I am also surprised that Alonso held on to 3rd place comfortably.. as Ferraris are not strong on the harder compounds.

Look at where the mercs finished. Ferarris and Mercs have been good on the high speed courses. I think India actually was really setup for a high speed car.

I don't get Mark Webber. Webber is a great driver but just has not shown it this year.
 
that penalty should have gone to hamilton, 100%. otherwise, boring. ferrari's floppy wing was something i guess.

it's actually formula one management (FOM) that produces the tv in all races except monaco and japan. either way, it was weak 😛

Schumacher often had to race though, didn't he? Plus, those were really different days with refueling and different strategies. You could put in a light fuel load to get ahead of someone, for example.
 
Yeah Schuey did race and often had to alter his strategy just to stay ahead whereas Vettel just sails off into the distance from pole.

What a race it would be if Vettel got stuck in the back and had to race to the front...

We have seen Webber have difficulty passing people. I wonder if Vettel would have difficulty? I suspect not.
 
We got to hear on the BBC coverage over and over again "When you see that heli cam shot of the long orange corner, you know you are at the Indian Grand Prix." Really BBC? I didn't know, because this was the first race and the heli cam was barely up for FP1/2/3 and Qualifying.
 
Poor Vettel looked really shell-shocked. Much as it's boring having him win every pole and race, I felt bad that he got knocked out so quickly, through no fault of his own.
 
the double drs had a weird effect, but i'm not sure it's 100% bad. it's not unlike cart's drafting wars in the 90's.

pros -
produces action for the fans in the stands, and tv, to enjoy
adds another dimension to the game. back and forth we go - who will be the first to slip?

cons -
it's artificial
the prolonged battles slow down whoever is involved, and the have little hope of catching the next guy.
 
US GP appears to be doa...

Maybe increased construction moves the event to jersey quicker. Either way everything seems to have fallen apart in Texas.

Bernie is skeptical and the track management is waiting for a contract from FOM.. A recipe for disaster I have to say.
