This track has a really long straight, should see a lot of overtaking(DRS zone starts somewhere between turns 13 and 14).. can't wait for qualifying and race.

The FIA has announced the DRS zone for the Chinese Grand Prix, allocating a section of the back straight between turns 13 and 14.

The straight is the second longest in Formula One, and in order to prevent overtaking becoming too easy, drivers will not be allowed to activate the DRS until a point that is 0.56 miles from turn 14, while the full length of the straight is actually 0.73 miles. The detection point to measure the gap between drivers is located in turn 12.

yep, 2 red bulls stampeding all year. 2.1 seconds (in practice) is close to the margin williams dominated by in the 90's. i bet vettel takes pole by 2.5 seconds over 3rd place.

looks like the field closed up in practice 2, which just goes to show you can't make bold predictions based on test sessions. vettel will still walk away though 😛

Vettel's pole was 0.7 ahead, not 2.5. I didn't think he would outqualify by that much, 2.5 is wayyy too much. Still, 0.7 is a pretty large gap.

Those final 2 minutes were hectic.. and Massa was damn aggressive with that overtaking maneuver.. and it paid off well for him. Extremely unlucky Q3 session for Renault, they were a bit too conservative in an effort to conserve those tires. Overall.. a pretty exciting session.

they should always do that in qualifying! stop the clock at 2 minutes and then fire away!

Brilliant race from start to finish. Webber was awesome, I am sure he would have overtaken vettel if the race lasted a couple more laps.. 7 seconds behind the leader is just amazing. Lol@ Button's first stop.. He lost precious sessions there. Fantastic race, throughly enjoyed.

Wowsers - that was one of the best races I've ever seen. I love the Asian races in the era of the DVR - I just get up whenever I naturally wake on Sunday to watch the race, after it's run in the middle of the night.

What a great race! Excellent drive by Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull definitely made the wrong call going for a 2 stop race for Vettel.

Would have liked to see Nico Rossberg finish higher up though, he had great race pace until the last 10-12 laps.
