What a great series. Two prolific teams...Celtics V Bulls. How many overtimes has there been so far? 5 or 6?

4 OT's

106 lead changes

Both are Playoff records and it's not over yet.

Oh and Ray Allen Hit 9 3's which tied a Playoff record and attempted 18 of them which set a record.

4 games with OT's, but I think the total # of OT's is 7. That's almost an extra game!

anyone know where the heck is T-Mac?
i dont follow houston, but i don't see him on the bench at all. i know he's injured, but shouldnt he be on the bench like KG for Boston? or is TMac bad luck? (which is why they are now in the 2nd round?)

Anyone that reports to the media (or on his blog?) and not the team first that he's having season ending surgery has already quit the team. I don't think too many houston fans are sweating this one. It's sad, but I think he brought this on himself.

His contract ends next season. We'll see what Houston does. I hope they dump him as soon as they can.

There's no reason to trash the chemistry they have now without him...dump him.

4 OT games....7 OT's total...whew.

edit: flipped beat me to it. That's a heckuva lot of extra playing time lately.

from watching the Yao-Ron comedy routines at the TNT postgame show, it looks like Ron-ron and Yao are better friends (and thus better teammates) than Yao-Francis and Yao-T-Mac

Again, I don't live in houston so I'm only exposed to the national coverage on TNT/ESPN/etc. but that's the vibe I got today.

Looks like a great series between Lakers and Rockets. I'd say Lakers in 6 though.

The big question is... do I break out my Bulls totems or my Celtics totems on Saturday night? Or both?

Start with the Celts totems, and then switch to the Bulls totems at the beginning of the 1st overtime. 🙂

Even after the game, and watching the replay over and over and over again, it still gives me the chills. Crazy series.

No they're just missing their game changing player. Kevin Garnett is to the Celtics as Manu Ginobili is to the Spurs. They totally change the offense and defense of their team.

Also Chicago is playing much better in this series than they did during the regular season. They have a lot to prove and have very many young players that are trying to establish themselves in the NBA.

Just in, no flagrant for Rondo. What a bunch of BS.
Rondo even admitted after the game that he wasn't going for the ball. They suspend Dwight and Rondo gets off scot-free? Total BS.

I'm kinda surprised at all of the "conspiracy-for-the Celtics" talk. I would say that, overall, they do not get preferential treatment. In some cases, they kinda get screwed, but they bring it upon themselves with all the talking and whining at officials.
In the Magic game last night, Dalembert threw an elbow to the head of Turkoglu. Dalembert's a dirty bastard when he plays and the refs should be keeping an eye on him. Yet somehow he got away with the elbow and when Turk fronted Dalembert and got in his face about it, the refs ejected Turk (rightfully so). But they even went back and watched a replay of the events, which clearly showed the blatant elbow, and still didn't asses the proper foul on Dalembert.

I don't believe in any conspiracy. Sometimes the refs just plain suck.

Wow, I'd be torn. Good luck with the run tho, and be sure to get plenty of sleep tonight too.

I don't know if I can watch any more playoffs rounds after this Bulls/Celtics series. They simply have set the bar so high that really nothing is going to compare. They may not be the best teams in the playoffs...but this will easily be the best "games" in the playoffs.

I love Chicago's heart. They don't have allstars. Don't have championship/playoff experience. Don't have a coach like Doc Rivers. Yet they are still hanging in there.

I don't care that Boston is missing Kevin Garnett. They still have two of the best 2/3 guards playing and arguably the best PG in the eastern conference on their team.

And Chicago is still hanging in there.

It's scary to think where would the bulls be if they hadn't given up Nocioni and Gooden for Salmons and Miller.

I knew Miller was a capable offensive player, but his competitive instincts are much stronger than I thought. And Salmons....I hardly even heard of him but he's turned out to by the Bulls leader. He reliable, tough minded, doesn't make many mistakes, hits big 3's and is an excellent slasher. And he takes playing defense personally like Hinrich.

These two have become the bulls leaders and are great for team chemistry.

As for Boston, I've been amazed by Rondo's affect on games. Pierce and Allen may be their scorer's, but Rondo is their glue. Baby davis has also been impressive...a dependable scorer while not being much a liability on the defensive end (maybe some stupid fouls but pretty solid).

And Rondo is allstar material as well...atleast he is now, lol.

What surprises me about all these overtimes is that teams are stepping up and making big plays instead of teams being stupid and careless and letting the other back in the game.

There's a bit of both, but mainly each takes what seems like a knockout blow, but gets up and starts putting the other guy on the ropes again. Over and over again.

Still got a sore vagina from last year?

Too bad your team sold its soul for 1 championship. (Even tho I would LOVE for the PHX suns to do the same)

😕 Please explain?

Well, can you please explain what exactly Kevin Garnetts knee injury is? Its pretty scary to have a knee injury that is keeping you out for months and they cant even explain whats wrong with your knee!
I know whats wrong. Kevin Garnett is just plain and simple getting old. Your joints break down as you age. He has been playing basketball professionally since he was 18. He is on the wrong side of 30 and has been playing in the NBA since 1995! His body is breaking down on him and there is really nothing he can do about it. For another example, please see Manu Ginobili. After beating the crap out of his body for years, his ankle is finally at its breaking point.

While I would love for my team to do the same thing Boston did, you gotta admit that the door on their championship hopes is pretty much shut. Garnett will only be another year older next year and who knows what is really wrong with his knee. He isn't getting surgery and he has been out for months. So what is really wrong with his knee? He is the glue that the Celtics need to win big games. Without Garnett the celtics just aren't nearly as good, which is why I say that they sold their soul (future) for 1 championship.

I don't think the Celtics sold their "soul". That just doesn't make sense. They gave up Al Jefferson and Delonte West. West has turned into a good player, but earlier in his career suffered from depression, and I wonder how he would be doing if he hadn't changed scenery. Al is a beast. But you have to give something to get something.

Danny Ainge has not proven to be a good GM, IMO. He squandered a few years before acquiring Garnett and Allen. If he hadn't done that, right now the Celtics would be Pierce (maybe - he might have been traded), Jefferson and some young players running around. If anything, with Garnett & Allen they revived the Celtics "soul".
