Conservatives have all kids of excuses about how climate change is not real, or the environment is just fine. They're all excuses for the conservatives to continue to take a shit on the environment, and not give a damn about consequences. There's no reason you need a Ford F250 to go to Walmart and buy milk, bread, and eggs. There's no reason to not invest in alternative energy generation, and to be more environmentally conscious with recycling programs.
As much as conservatives tout oil as the only needed energy source, Texass would die if not for solar and wind energy generation. That's a fact. The US is producing more oil than ever, though the illegal price fixing group known as OPEC continues to manipulate oil production to keep prices high.
Cars being more fuel efficient helps drive oil prices down. Cars using alternative energy sources also helps keep oil prices down. There's no logical reason for conservatives to oppose electric vehicles. The only explanation is conservatives are fucking retards, brainwashed by Faux News and thinking multi-billion dollar oil companies actually care about them. News flash, if you were on fire, they wouldn't have the time to walk across the street to piss on you to put out the fire.
As mentioned earlier, you don't need a hulking behemoth of a truck to go to Walmart. A Toyota Corolla or Nissan Sentra is perfectly fine to go grocery shopping. That 11mpg Ford F250 does exactly zero for you, except cost you more money driving it around when grocery shopping. And yeah, even in the northeast, I see these pavement princess pickup trucks. And I'm someone who happens to like pickup trucks. A Ford F150 is definitely a nice truck, and I've actually considered the F150 Lightning.
Carbon capture is a last resort and a guaranteed failure, because it costs money, and there's no real monetary return. Any mention by conservatives of carbon capture or other similar programs is a red herring. If you need to spend money cleaning up the environment, you're better off paying a little extra for more fuel efficient cars. Raising the efficiency requirements of vehicles is NOT a bad thing. In the long run it saves money, less need for things like AC to cool your house down, and less flooding like those idiot conservatives in Floriduh, as well as healthier people if the environment is cleaner.
