Don't want to be stereotyped? Then don't cover your body with a bunch of stupid looking tattoos.

Yes, most people who don't have tattoos think you look ridiculous.

See and there is my point.

I work in a very high profile arena, I am outside of the norm when it comes to appearance at my job, ie, one in 5000 if not more. I however, do not look at the people around me who choose not to get tattoos and say "Wow you ignorant tools, you do not have tattoos, therefore you must lack the ability to express yourself" Nope, I don't because its a personal choice. One that people from many varied walks of life choose. So, tell me Im white trash, tell me im low class, whatever. I am not the loser this time.

You will be when you don't get that job you wanted because you just don't fit in with the image the corporation considering hiring you wants to project.

Like it or not, these things do make a difference and people do judge you by your appearance. Whether it's right to do that is a moot point.

No, what's actually 'right' is the ONLY thing that really matters. Ever. In anything.

Lofty goal but that is not reality. Never has been and probably never will be.

Reality too, is largely what you make it.

Again you used that same false logic.
Most bums have tattoos. But that does not mean people with tattoos are bums. 6StringSamurai, you are the one here making that false accusation.

I am only saying what they are "meaning". It's ok I grew up in the "Bible-Belt" South, I know their type.

Original point still stands - people with sleeve tattoos aren't generally in a position to make enough cash to support a wife and child. Regardless of whether or not that's stereotyping, that's just how society today works. I don't think the OP was against tattoos in general and was just pointing out that a sleeve tattoo will work against his nephew when (if) he tries to get a decent job in the future. Also, relax :)

FK

you are correct. i am not against tattoo's my wife has two and i think they look sexy on her. however they are on a part of her body that is covered and nobody knows she has them unless they see her in a bikini or wearing shorts.

Same boat. My gf has a tattoo on her lower back and her right shoulder, both easily covered up. And I enjoy it when she's not covering them up :D

This is a case where the girl's parents should step in, tell her to put the baby up for adoption, and tell her not to get married. She's still a minor, they can tell her to do whatever they want. The baby isn't going to have much of a chance otherwise. Some 19 year old without a high school degree and a girl who's a sophomore/junior in high school? That's terrible. Good luck to the kid.

19 and 16 is not statutory rape in colorado if that's what you are implying.

Regarding the statuatory rape claims - most states have kind of a sliding window regarding ages. So a 18 year old and a 16 year old may be ok, but a 25 year old and a 16 year old isn't. Not sure what Colorado's looks like. And I'm not googling that at work.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ages_of_consent_in_North_America#Colorado

Looks like dad is safe WRT statuatory rape charges. There's a 4 year window in Colorado.

WTF...marrying the girl is not responsibility when he can't take care of her, the baby, or himself. and they will probly be divorced in a few years, making them both miserable.

Exactly. Bringing a child into the world that you cannot take care of with someone you got 'stuck with' is not the responsible thing. Some might have a moral problem with abortion, but if you don't, it seems the more 'responsible' choice in this type of situation.

I just think it's funny that a 16 year old is old enough to drive but not old enough to decide if hooking up with a 19 year old is the smart thing to do..........

The law may not be on my side but I don't see anything wrong with that personally.

Don't throw the whole bunch into a group of retardation. I'm 18 and I'd beat the child out of her. Not all of us are stupid.

I really don't think that murder is the more responsible choice there. Adoption though, that's a great choice. But having a 16 y/o girl get an abortion is going to mess with her head on so many levels. Even the 19 y/o nephew, as much as he might have messed up already, an abortion for him would just enable him to continue to live in a reckless way, because then there are no consequences except for what seems like a $500 penalty fee for getting a girl preggo. Also, neither of them need to carry around the guilt that will come later. It is hard to forgive yourself for things like that.

I would have thrown him out of the house right then, he wouldn't have even finished his sentence. You must have the patience of Job my friend. I hope that he apologizes to your daughter.

I like how he did it at your kids birthday party so his parents couldn't flip out and start yelling.

I feel so bad for that little girl, her life is ruined.*

*disclaimer: yes children are a blessing and yes many people have good lives after getting knocked up at an early age but I still stand by my statement.
