She sucks at directions, yes.

But you being the driver should have KEPT GOING. You can always U-turn later on. I hate it when people try to turn at the last minute and nearly hit someone/something.

my wife is terrible at directions and is right only about 10% of the time. Still I'm a d!ck and give her a hard time when she's wrong. I feel terrible for it, but I just can't help but feel the anger when it happens. So I know how you felt during the moment...

Exactly. I admit I should've kept going but when someone yells at you to turn you have to make a snap decision about whether you have time to turn or not. Then I was just frustrated. Of course I felt bad later.

And like I said, my anger was fueled by her attitude, but she apologized for that, as well.

typical of woman, like to insist man follow their wrong directions
then resort to their natural defense mechanism, crying

i had a similar episode after i work 16 hrs, she insist that we both go
to a house party new jersey, on our way back she insist she knows her way
back even though her friend who was in front of us ask if we're fine
from this point on.....lo and behold we got lost and instead of flipping out
as usual, i just continue to drive real fast straight down to the bronx and
let her get nervous and eventually whisper i think we should be goin the opposite
direction, @which point i do the homer simpson "ohhh really"

And you only hit her because you love her, right?

Nah I don't hit girls. We went out to dinner, and she complained about how expensive going out was. And I reminded her that every time we go out I am the one that pays. Instead of saying thank you she continued to btch at me. Hence, I called her a CFC.

Not sure how things went from you not knowing where you were going to being sure that if you didn't turn right there you'd have a long drive before you could turn around...

In any event, you were wrong. You're driving, you don't drive dangerously no matter who is yelling what.

Why'd you leave out the part where you beat her for spilling coffee on you this morning too? :p

No but seriously, you flipped out and it was justified, but maybe not to the point of making her cry. Still, she shouldn't be crying over something like that, as she put your lives both in jeopardy with her indecision.

Well ou were at the wheel making the wild turns. If you felt it was unsafe, you could have turned around, stopped, etc. I understand your frustration, and she should have apologized for not knowing the way and making you frazzled, but she is not the reason you almost hit that car.

Yep. I can sympathize with the OP since I can be a real jerk while driving too...but that doesn't mean I'm right. I'm just a jerk when all is said and done.

Oh yeah, and apologize. Even when you're like 80% in the right, just fvcking apologize. You have to choose your battles, and is this really a battle worth winning?

Edit: While I wouldn't consider this one of the cases...women can sometime use crying as the tactical nuke in an arguement. When they lay on the tears, you lose...after that its like they're on fire and you just want to put it out.

I could help you but for one thing, pics make all the difference.

Don't yell at people unless someone's dying and you can prevent it, we'll all think better of you.

forever everyone suggesting that the OP "bitchslap" his woman, they are either joking or have never been in a relationship.

I've learned these things the hard way, you just cannot argue or get mad at your girlfriend. You yell at them too much and you come off as verbally abusive, you try to tell them anything and they say your trying to act high and mighty. There's just no angle you can play that will work. You just have to find other ways to vent your rage.

Take it from me, I just lost my gf because I was constantly criticizing her. Ask yourself this, is arguing really worth losing your gf over? Look at the big picture, pick your battles, you'll come out ok man. Oh, and ALWAYS APOLOGIZE, no matter what.
