I think I've gained more weight than the OP just from eating Mexican food on the weekend. I'm just gonna let this go and assume it's not a serious thread. Har har, now it's a bit entertaining.

He's pretty much dead center in the normal range of BMI so yea I'm serious. Love how people that are over weight are convinced it must be all muscle when 9 times out of 10 they're actually at lot fatter then they realize.

BMI is a crock of shit.

You guys are as bad as the women thinking they need to be little waif models with barely any meat on them. Everywhere you go you see these little girly men with skinny jeans and barely any muscle. For some reason you people aspire to look like that, but myself and I'm sure a lot of other MEN out there want to be MAN sized instead of weak and small.

I think a guy who's 6' 200 lbs looks far better then a guy who's 6' 165 lbs cut. Most women prefer a manly men rather then a little skinny guy also.

to each his own I guess, you'll be the first ones to be eaten with the zombie apocalypse comes.

Hahah, nice generalization. He's also 20 pounds of fat away from being a lardass. I'm 6', weigh 165. Are you telling me I'm underweight? For doing what, exactly?

for looking like a man? I was 6' 165 lbs before I started weight training. I couldn't tell you how many people tell me that I look like a man now that I'm over 200 lbs. That's a good size if you want to be a long distance runner or something...but it doesn't look very good IMO.

BMI is a crock of shit.

The main Problem of the BMI is that it only uses the weight of the person, ignoring the BF%. A very muscular (= heavy) person with a very low BF% has the same BMI like a fat person of the same weight.
But as long as the OP has a healthy BMI number, you can assume that he is at least not underweight.

I was 6' 165 lbs before I started weight training. I couldn't tell you how many people tell me that I look like a man now that I'm over 200 lbs.

165lbs != 165lbs... You lan look very athletic and muscular with 165lbs IF the 165 lbs are mainly muscle and not fat...

lets take a 165lbs man with 5% bf and your 200lbs man with 20% bf
165lbs man has 8,25lbs fat and the 200lbs man 40 lbs fat. their "lean" weight is 156,75 lbs vs 160lbs = only 3,25lbs more muscle...
Sorry but i take the 6-pack and the definition every time over the 3,25lbs additional muscle mass under the beer belly...

I think a guy who's 6' 200 lbs looks far better then a guy who's 6' 165 lbs cut. Most women prefer a manly men rather then a little skinny guy also.

It depends on BF% and composition... a 165lbs guy isn't necessary skinny... and a 200lbs fattass is not really that manly...

to each his own I guess, you'll be the first ones to be eaten with the zombie apocalypse comes.

If you were a zombie which guy would you hunt? The skinny fast runner consisting of bones and skin or the slow meatsack? :awe:

At 6' 225lbs with a full mane of chest hair I fully support this post.

Arnold in his prime for competitions was 6'2 240 pounds, but you're going to tell me you're fine at 6' 225... I'm thinking you've a lot more lard on you than you think you have. I'm a very skinny person, but I like being that way. The op regardless of his current aspirations is just normal.

6' 165 is actually too heavy to be a long distance runner. My sophomore year I was 143... a little light, but my ideal racing weight is right around 150.

Anddd... I'm pretty sure I look like a man. And I'm almost positive if we competed in a decathlon I would win :p

Actually, you are the male equivalent of those women. Women are told they must be petite and beautiful and that they have to live up to those standards. You, for some reason, have been brainwashed into thinking you need to look Arnold or your self-worth is in jeopardy. I'm going to guess that for all the muscle you've put on, you probably don't even have much use of it in your day to day life. Just muscles for the sake of having muscles and thinking it makes you look more manly.

A guy who is 6' and 165lbs on the other hand, probably got that way by just living a normal modern lifestyle. He doesn't over eat and doesn't go out of his way to bulk for the sake of bulking.

Personally, I don't care one way or the other, I just thought it was funny that you'd label other guys as trying to meet an image while you turn around and do the exact same thing. It's so disgustingly hypocritical.

(I'm 6'6 200lbs)

If the OP is average and you're skinny then I pity you and your bony body. If I went through the extreme measures that arnold went through to drop from 260+lbs down to 240lbs for competitions I would look like a freak of nature too. If I dropped 20 pounds I would i no way be as shredded as he was in the Olympia competitions, but I would look much better than you could ever fathom as skin and bones.

most guys who are 6' 165lbs aren't trying to meet an image. they are that way naturally, from doing absolutely no hard work and eating relatively normal. at least that was my case.

I don't aspire to look like arnold either, I don't bodybuild or really care about being totally ripped. I do on the other hand, care about being a decent sized male with some strength. I get use of it pretty often actually, biking is easier, moving stuff around the house is easier, and girls like guys with with a nice butt and strong legs.

btw, you mad you're 90's small at 6'6 200 lbs?

Your first paragraph agrees with me and contradicts what you said earlier. What the fuck?

Your second paragraph contradicts itself, you don't want to look like Arnold but admit that girls like guys with "a nice butt and strong legs", I assume they also like strong arms, washboard abs and a chiseled chest, right Arnold? You are so fucking self conscious about the way you look. But yea, I'm sure biking is easier, I see a lot of ripped professional bikers... they get so massive.

And what the hell does 90's small mean? I've never in my life been referred to as small :)

90's small is probably in contrast to 70's big?

There's a big different between a strong powerlifter with a decent build then a bodybuilder. I aspire to look like an athlete, not arnold. there's a big difference there buddy.

90's small is described well here, with pics!

Dude you're what we call way too image concious. You're almost as bad as the guidos that take 30 minutes to do their hair. Oh no I have to look a certain way otherwise guys will call me gay. Quit being so myopic.

How would you not? Yeah, he's a great endurance athlete. Try to make him move any load besides his body weight and he will be slightly above average in strength at best.

CoreyB said he needs to be jacked to ride a bike. Then he said he doesn't want to be strong, he wants to be athletic. So I referenced the most athletic biker in the world and whether he matched the insult CoreyB threw at me. You following now? (It was a loaded question...)

Also, I'd be willing to bet Lance would be well above average. Considering average right now is overweight and inactive. He may not be able to outbench you or someone else, but in any functional strength test he'd probably still score considerably well.

Man this thread is frustrating. You have to loosen the reins on your diet a bit OP.

I caught a cold this week (who catches a cold in the summer?) and wasn't able to breathe very good, so I didn't eat properly, and I wasn't able to workout. I was able to do some thinking.

I'm going to stop going out (except for getting food and going to the gym) and just focus on eating and lifting weights, cause it's kind of weird walking around outside all day with a big thermos of eggs and cream.

So in 2 months you have not gained a single ounce. Maybe you should start listening to the advice others are giving you?

I've gotten leaner and put on muscle. They aren't huge changes, but I notice them.

In case you haven't noticed, this is an exceptionally slow way to change your body composition. Had you done proper bulk & cut cycles, your results would probably have been better - that is, you would have ended up with more muscle and less fat in the same time.
