About 21 miles for me this week. Ran on a track for the first time this morning which was pretty interesting. So much different than running even on a pretty tame road.

Ran my full marathon today. (Inflatable already added it to the total mileage) 4:13:32. Again I faltered after about 21. Bested my PR by 12 minutes but considering the optimal weather today, expected to do a lot better. Truly, the only thing consistent from full to full has been my training. I solely put my finishes and not being stronger in all my fulls due to my relatively weak/built for beginners marathon plan.

At this point, I am done with fulls until next fall - goal is Chicago or Marine Corps, unless I somehow get into NY, which I highly doubt. Will concentrate on forefoot running and getting much faster and sticking with half marathons and shorter distances.

RB - Congrats on the PR! Yea, holding it together after 20-21 miles is where your race is really decided.

Maybe you hoped to go faster, but hey, a PR is a PR no matter what 🙂.

5 + 5 + 4 + 12 + 6 since I last posted. Man, now that I'm not running high mileage I'm really lax about posting this stuff!! 32 total. Congratulations RB! A PR is always good! But yeah, those last 4-6 miles SUCK!!!!

I miss running. Work has been crazy, I don't get home until late every day now. And with the holiday season upon us I have lots of family obligations to see to. I may have to break down and buy a gym membership so I can use a treadmill a few times a week.

Hmm it's time I start contributing to this. I've just begun training for a 5k, which, much to my dismay, is only a few weeks away. I have from today to January 10th to get my ass in gear so hopefully that goal plus contributing to this will keep me motivated.

Ran 5 miles today, plus warmup/cooldown so I guess it's around 6 miles. Not a bad start, though it will be interesting how my legs feel tomorrow.

Oh and this is going to be my first race ever D:

Have a blast at your first race. All the races I've been to have been party atmosphere afterwards.

As I was laying down to get some sleep last night I decided that I was definitely going to be getting a gym membership for #1 son and I. After being out in the cold all day long at work I just don't have the oomph to go out and run in the shit. God I can't wait for spring...

Hey thanks, it certainly will be nice to get the first out of the way. It's hard for me to continue when it starts getting painful but I'm doing what I can to psychologically trick myself into thinking I've just started.

Anyways, 4 miles today. My legs got tired way faster than yesterday so it became tough quickly.

4 miles. Apparently a one day break isn't quite enough to be back at full strength. 22 days until the 5k. There's no way I'll reach my goal of an 8 minute mile but I'm sure as hell going to try.

Haven't posted in this thread for a while...

10/17: 1x400 yards, 2x100 yards, 2x80 yards, 2x60 yards, 2x40 yards, 2x20 yards, 2x10 yards = 0.58 miles
10/27: 4x400m = 1 mile
10/31: 1.25 miles
11/4: 6x400m = 1.5 miles
11/14: 4x400m = 1 mile
11/15: 7x400m = 2.25 miles
11/22: 10x40m = .25 miles
11/26: 2.25 miles
11/28: 1.75 miles
12/2: 18x100m = 1.12 miles
12/5: 3.1 miles
12/13: 3.7 miles
12/17: 2.5 miles
12/19: 2x40m, 2x85m, 1x100m, 3x400m, 1x800m = 1.47 miles
Total: ~24 miles
