Don't worry about it, there is always going to be someone better out there. There are surely runners out there that would blow the doors off those guys. One day someone will watch you pass them by like that. :)

Send them my way for a little fartlek treatment and I'll run their legs off for ya ;).

Really though, the great thing about this sport is that you can compete at any level and find people who are around your fitness level. And once you get faster, you'll be able to find new people to run with.

Keep at it, and train smart. You'll get there!

5 miles this morning, including 10 min of tempo work.

Has anyone noticed that people seem to take you more seriously when you run shirtless? I've been gauging people's observations as I run through my neighbourhood, and on the days when I wear a shirt, people stare at me, cars try to run me off the road, etc.

When I go shirtless, cars actually stop for me, even if it's not at a stop sign! (And I get a few smiles from the lovely ladies too :p). I'm not one to show off, but the extra attention is kind of nice haha.

Yeah, I was batting them away alot today also. They really do lessen the enjoyment of a run. :(

Crap, I haven't logged miles since last week. I think 30 from Tuesday of last week through this week. The heat is really killing me :(

12 miles today with 4 at tempo pace on the track. It was a gloriously warm rainy day today and I enjoyed every second of being outside in the downpour and getting weird looks from passing motorists. I wish every run could be like today (well, I do enjoy the sunny-but-not-quite-hot runs too...) 5909

I did a fast 10 miler on my favorite local trails after work today. The deer flies were bad until it started raining.

5.3 miles, 2.7 of which were butt-clenchingly uncomfortable and thus slow on the way home :(
