Yes I was. I thought I read somewhere to do that so that you didn't have to install a program twice, one for each OS. I've been using XP since I set up the dual-boot, and have been installing programs in a separate partition. I don't think that I've used Win2000 to run any of those programs...

I was running W2k for a few days before I installed XP, so it did work for awhile. I mean it locks up at the splash screen where it says its loading windows and has a progress bar going across.

Has anyone corrected this problem by cooling it better themselves? I took my card out and blew some air on it, and a half pound of dust came off of it. It seems to have helped it for now, probably not a long term solution, I just hate to go a week or 2 without use of a computer.

After installing Service pack 3 on my W2k machine, I can dial up with my 56k modem just fine, but once connected it won't do anything. When I open IE it says page cannot be displayed, and gives all the possible reasons. When I open Outlook Express it says Host could not be found....error...
