    You're trying to install XP, right? If your drive is larger than 32MB, NTFS will be your only option.

    You know something, your right. Windows 98 can't read an NTFS partition on it's own local hard drive. This doesn?t apply to networked disk access. I probably shouldn't be responding to questions this late. I think I'll have another beer.

    If you use NTFS on the XP machine you may have a problem seeing that machine from the 98 boxes. Use FAT32 and there should be no problem.

    I agree with bsobel. If you want the protection the antivirus software provides then install it on each OS. Having it installed on one OS and not the other will leave your machine vulnerable.

    When you use ICS Windows automatically uses the 192.168.0.1 address on the LAN NIC. Change the router's internal IP to resolve the conflict.

    Is your drive formatted as NTFS? You cannot make your folders private if your drive is not formatted as NTFS.
