Same crime should carry the same punishment :colbert:

So if prostitution is done in a bawdy house you would not be breaking the law? Last I checked, it is still illegal in the States.

Magic word of the day is "Context"

Drinking Alcohol is not Illegal
Opening drinking Alcohol on a public street is probably not legal.

Same act. Different legalities.

You didn't answer my question...If the prostitution happens in a bawdy house as in consumption out of the public's eye, should it still be illegal?

this was apparently occurring in the dance studio and not out on the street.

She should be charged on the videotaping part though.

I don't give a damn if its illegal or not, it shouldn't be illegal. But the queston was why is it illegal to sell prostitution vs porn movies. The answer to that question was that, in the minds of the lawmakers, prostitution happens on the public streets, which is true most of the time.

The context of whore houses is not relevant as it isn't a large enough percentage of the prostitution trade.

I'm always a sucker for a nice brunette. She's probably the hottest prostitute I've seen. Gorgeous!

Anyone with a rational and logical head on their shoulders would see the absurdity of prostitution being a criminal offense.

Probably has very good muscle control :whiste:

why is it ok to make pron movies and not prostitution? what the hell is the difference?

They are both being paid to have sex. Not one paying the other to have sex.

Eh, I think its still illegal to pay a hooker to have sex with your friend - even if you give your friend $5 for doing it

CNN did an article on the legal differences a while back and, from my understanding, this is the summation:

Because the impact of pornography occurs through the mediation of an audience witnessing a performance, rather than an audience receiving physical services from a performer, pornography and its making qualify as First-Amendment protected speech.
