So I can advertise myself as a porn producer, charge a $200 application fee, hire the person, pay him $1 for his "performance" and then pay the girl $149 and keep 50 dollars profit for myself?

boom, legal prostitution. lols you can even give them a copy of the film that way you could be distributing the film in limited quantities as well, you know for art.

You didn't answer my question...If the prostitution happens in a bawdy house as in consumption out of the public's eye, should it still be illegal?

this was apparently occurring in the dance studio and not out on the street.

She should be charged on the videotaping part though.

Yes, for not recording sex in the 21st century. :p

Seriously this shit is stupid. Government and others hating on an entrepreneur. Way to take a wage earner out of society idiots.

Except the fed government has a reason to hate on as a "wage earner" since she's not paying taxes on said earnings. They should just make prostitution legal already.

She's cute with a nice body.

Eh, I think its still illegal to pay a hooker to have sex with your friend - even if you give your friend $5 for doing it

Right, because your intent was to hire a hooker to have sex with your friend. If your intent was to hire an actress through your production company and then hire your 'friend' as an actor and pay them both as performers through a legitimate(registered, tax paying etc) business then you're being 'legal'. You'll also have to turn a profit if you want your business to succeed, so you'll need to start selling the videos as well.

yep, even if its a joke. a buddy of mine saw a hooker once and asked how much. she replied what are you offering. he said a nickel and the next thing he knew he was surrounded by cops. she was undercover. had to pay $700 to bail his ass out. never let him forget about that one

Surprisingly she looks pretty hot. Women that are forced into prostitution by Pimps / Kidnapping that should be illegal but it should be legal if a woman decides to do it by choice.

Damn, how much of the tax-payer's money must have been wasted to investigate and document 106 counts of prostitution? Releasing the names publicly is really a douchey thing for the police to do. I could maybe see the taping without consent being a problem, but not the prostitution.

Maine really got its moneys worth our of their law enforcement on this one. Anyone else think they investigate/prosecute "crimes" like this just so they have a job?

Yup, probably not that much crime happening in Maine so law enforcement have to find something.

What is this girl's stage name? I have some after-work research to do...if you know what I mean.

Edit: I'm writing an editorial on the ethics behind prostitution...

Same crime should carry the same punishment :colbert:

So if prostitution is done in a bawdy house you would not be breaking the law? Last I checked, it is still illegal in the States.

This whole thing has been beaten to death in the courts. Pron is protected under the 1st ammendment, because it is published. Prostitution is a service, big difference.
