I snagged one of those Imation 8x20 CD-R external drives from CompUSA back when that was a hot deal. The firmware updater to turn it into a Plextor drive was awesome.

Now, if only someone can figure out how to turn this Iomega into a Plextor in the firmware....

Folks, Namlook is lying. I know, 'cause I just wiped out all of
Southern California, Nevada and Arizona. Man, this is the second
time in three days. First I had to make that triangle trip to
pick up 68 of those $29 phone systems at OfficeDepot, and now
this. 417 Iomegas in all. Drool...
My OpelGT is really filled to the brim now with boxes...Yup,
they all fit in there. Those Opels really hold a lot.

These are all going to FleaBay. Sorry folks, but I've gotta be a
piggie. But if anyone wants one, I will gladly trade it to you
for something that cost you 4x what I paid for my goodies, say, a PS2.
Oh, and don't dare call me anything other than a saint for making
you that terrific offer.

I don't know about the rest of you, but the Compusa National Call Center opens 2 hours before the B&M's here so I'm checking actual inventory levels with my cell phone sitting outside the Bestbuy store just before they open tomorrow morning. Great thing is that normally Compusa opens an hour earlier than Bestbuy Monday-Saturday, but on Sunday they open at the exact same time. I'll give the Bestbuy customer service agent the exact Compusa phone number for the store that has the most in stock to call to check availability. Price matching here we come!! I'm not taking any chances...

San Jose, CA is out. They had 4 this morning but they were gone by 1 in the afternoon. I talked to one of the clerks and she told me that they had 10 on commercial hold which meant they are going to release them tomorrow.

Santa Clara, CA had 4. =) Now they have 3.
