At the store in Dadeland (Miami Fla.) had 20+ as of 6:00pm Ispoke to the manager explaining I could not get there in the morning and didn't want to mis this great sale. All he said was that the ads come out tommorrow and if the drive goes on sale they will refund the difference when I bring the reciept in. GOT MINE Thanks to Nastrodamus for reading the future.

When I called my local store in Columbus Ohio I was informed that this is a $150.00 mail-in and $30.00 instant.Only 2 locations with 1 waiting for 4 and the other waiting for 10.

So i braved the storm and went to my store in NYC, they had plenty left but wouldn't give me the discount today. They said just come back tomorrow and have the price adjusted and get your refund. ok so i picked up 2 and some other stuff...The sutomer service girl assured me that i can just come in tomorrow with the receipt and get the price adjusted.
Will install one and see what i can work on to get this thing as a plextor....

What can i do with the other one ????

The compusa's in seattle had the metal "pizza racks" out and they had lots of 8x on the stacks too... other cities have reported this, so make sure you aren't counting 8x as 12x!

Damn damn damn!! I woke up way too late today and went to CompUSA. They were all out of the drives today, and today isn't even the sale day.
I missed out on the deal of the century! (this is counting that this new year is the real beginning of the century)

Do they get a new stock tommorrow?

Glottis, I think you and I were probably in the Plano, TX store about the same time. I went in and bought one. There was a couple comparing CD burners so I told them about the drive and they bought one as well. There weren't any on the regular shelves when I was there, and there were maybe about six on the high storage shelves before I and the other couple bought ours. I talked to the manager about the $150 instant savings and he confirmed I could come in tomorrow and get the $150+tax refunded.

I couldn't resist and picked up three of these at the La Mesa Comp USA in San Diego. It looked like they had about 10 left. The guy behind the counter pretended like he didn't know about the sale price tomorrow but I think he did. I tried to get the price reduction today but they told me to just bring them in tomorrow to get the adjustment. One of the other guys there couldn't believe the drive is going to be $180 off. He can't saying over and over again "$180 off man I can't believe it..." Hehe.

Just went to my friendly local compusa. They had a few stacked up behind the counter. Asked the guy for one and told him about the rebate. He took the CDRW back and said he couldn't sell it for that price and he has no idea what I was talking about. He also said I couldn't talk to a manager as he was "out". Compusa never does cease to piss me off.

I can't believe they are allowing 10 rebates per person. That is almost unheard of. It's usually 1 per person and sometimes 3 or so but I've never seen 10 before.
