How was my post trolling or baiting? Can you specify exactly which sentence was doing that? Meanwhile, you have actual trolls and baiters that have 1 or 2 year old accounts doing it but no warning to them.

There is a difference between me saying things that aren't the popular opinion on this thread and baiting/trolling.
If it wasn't about Zen 7 then it was trolling.

Plenty of posts don't refer to Zen 7 directly. I don't see you accusing them of trolling.

Still, my post refers to Zen 7 indirectly by comparing the state of M4 vs Strix Halo today and how much improvement Zen 7 needs in order to catch Apple in ST performance and efficiency. That was the topic of discussion because Joe NYC stated that AMD is gunning for performance and efficiency crown from Apple. So we were discussing what it'd take for Zen7 to beat M8. How is that trolling?

It's still part of the core unlike SME which is shared between cores we are testing a single core not single core + accelerators.
I am not in favour of cluster accelerators creeping in ST.
It doesn't matter as long as it is a standard CPU instruction. It does not matter how the SoC executes the CPU instruction.

If you're thinking that it affects how MT performance scales, then just measure MT performance and make a purchase based on the results.

Assuming Zen 7 competes with M8 and Apple can keep improving gen over gen. The M core is already very wide and has slowly been getting close to x86 frequencies. But since Zen is likely to remain a small core with a server focused design it may not matter.

Step 0: Put out some figures without sound basis. -> Unfortunately, difficult to tell apart from trolling.
Step 1: Come up with a sound method for quantification. -> Off-topic here.
Step 2: Quantify the current state and extrapolate to Zen 7 and M8. -> On-topic.¹

________
¹) to a small subset of Zen 7 usage areas

my take:

- currently 9950X/halo (RYZEN MAX) is trampling on M4 MAX

- medusa halo will demolish M6/M7 even harder

- AMD real perf increase ratio per gen will still be faster than rivals

- so... zen 7 will keep obliterating M8 etc

take M1 as example. made everything feel supa fast smooth with crazy battery life but starts seriously clogging on MT / when running many apps same time

M3/M4 makes the situation better but still same problems. also macOS intentionally getting slower to justify hardware upgrades lol

apple M cannot handle serious MT

benchmarks scores are becoming increasingly irrelevant..... there should be some kind of new field like "phantom performance analysis"

x86 is going nowhere
