Server & desktop zen 6
So we're really only 6-9 months away from Zen6 server & desktop being available for purchase? I would expect more to be known about it at this point then, and perhaps even benchmark leaks soon.

BTW: From where does that Q3 2026 release date info come from? Is it wishing, or based on something solid? Because I thought it was going to be late H2 2026 or early 2027, from earlier rumors.

Might be 6 months to ODM shipments of Venice. Everything else, who knows?

Venice has been running at hyperscalers for some time.

With AMD being good at preventing leaks we wont get much info prior launch. The only reliable "immediate launch indicator" are BIOS updates enabling support for upcoming CPU models.

Remember the Zen 5 launch. IIRC we got perf info in June or so.

So I guess the Q3’26 release date is just speculation too then.
I'm guessing Q4 2026 Zen 6 Launch and X3D variants in end of Q1 2027.

RDNA 5 Q1 or Q2 2027.

There was an old rumor that's not likely ever posted in this forum, both next gen of AMD CPU and GPU were scheduled in 2H26. But after catastrophic RAM price surging, I'm slightly less confident that these would be on time.

RDNA 5 thread starts with that roadmap of AMD planning a end of H2 2026 release.

That was before what happened with RDNA 4 — when AMD ended up waiting for nvidia to go first

If that repeats — all rumours point to Q3 2027 for nv launch — then RDNA 5 is for sure H2 2027 launch

Delayed to wa they announced or delayed to your expectations?

Delayed beyond the worst expected cadence (of 2 years).

When Intel has 1 year cadence, AMD is not going to be able to keep up with > 2 year cadence. Especially in mobile, were Intel is already quite strong.

AMD replaces Strix with 2026 Grogon - likely in a week at CES. Sure, it is a simple rebrand with a tiny frequency bump. OEMs should be happy.

AMD uplifts are greater generationally than Intel's

Seems uncompetitive though

People say this about every release. They have yet to fall behind.

That is my opinion too. It seems to me that Medusa 1 die is optimized for Time to Market, not to be held back by availability of things like RDNA5, N2, LPDDR6.

That (to me) says that AMD's intention is to release it in 2026.

There is Meteor Lake, Lunar Lake, Panther Lake, Nova Lake. Each one by itself is not anything special, but each one is an incremental improvement over the previous one.

Considering that the goal is to match and eventually surpass Mac laptops, there is no way AMD can get there with > 2 year or longer cadence (if first Zen 6 Medusa slips to 2027)

We are just a little over a week to CES, so we will see what AMD presents.

CES too early to make any client Zen 6 announcement beyond maybe a sneak peek.

Gorgon Point, especially if it is not even using new dies, is going to look quite week.
