But who wants 9 babies? It's a labored analogy at this point.
"Labored." hehe

Yeah, if we just keep the pipeline prefed with babies 1 month from delivery and apply branch prediction, we can have babies in 1 month when we want them. With pipelining they can absolutely achieve 1 baby per month rate.
we're going straight to Axolotl tanks with thisYou can achieve better than one baby per mother per cycle. With advanced equipment, you can easily achieve more than 12 babies a year with fewer than 9 mothers.
what the speculation going here
Medusa point 1 is early 2027
Strix was a 2024-2025 product. Gorgon (Strix refresh) is slated for 2026. Medusa comes in 2027. This has been presented by leaked roadmaps for quite a while and, sadly, it fits. That would be a disaster for AMD to have a nearly 3 year cadence.

you should stopStrix Point, equivalent of Medusa Point, was released in June 2024,
"Early 2027" for the equivalent product is 3 year cadence, and it is bad for AMD, since one area where AMD is lagging is quality notebook SoCs. Which means that AMD needs to iterate faster, not slower, in order to achieve leadership.

Medua is a 2027 product as per FAD slide deck.I still expect Medusa Point in 2026, which would be fine.
I was responding to @marees and others, who think Medusa Point is going to be a 2027 product. My opinion of that (2027 release) is that it would be a fail on part of AMD.

There are many different levels of volume you can hit at a given 'launch' date.I still expect Medusa Point in 2026, which would be fine.

In any case, "cadence" is a worthless metric unless you deliver on perf.
?It's better to have 0.9x of delivered performance improvement in 2 years than 1.0x delivered performance in 3 years.
They don't have fabs.I am saying that AMD should not become the next Intel.
They don't delay stuff much either. As in failing to execute on its cadence and promise pie in the sky in 1 year delayed product.
Q3'26 for stuff. To get back on track, what's the expectation of AMD launches in 2026? Is it just desktop Zen 6 in Q4?
