Maybe not....according to the AIDA64 test of the 9800X3D in this review, the CPU hits 5.425 GHz. I didnt see where they OC'ed it. Maybe the out of the box Fmax is 5.425 despite the 5.2 official labeling??

It also means you turn off some of your potential clients but maybe in the end it's a successful strategy for them.
Oh yeah, absolutely it does. The last time I did some research for a a laptop there were very few that were upgradeable. It was for a work colleague and I had to get one that day so I had to settle for LPDDR5 as that was the only one in stock. I went with 32GB on a relatively cheaper laptop to be safe.

Looks like the launch of the decade. So many reviews! https://videocardz.com/189651/amd-ryzen-7-9800x3d-review-roundup

TPU's results seem a little low comparing to other outlets. Certain games like Hogwarts Legacy have no CPU dependance (and higher framerates) whereas other places show the L3 making a big difference. Interesting how the scene can change the outcome of a review.

GCC improvement is nice despite lower clocks. I wonder how good they will be able to bin 9950x3d...

Anyone else see this? The 9800X3D actually does extremely well compared to the 9950X considering its large clock speed disadvantage.

Tempted to get a 9950X3D, looks like it’s going to be better than I expected.

Embargo was an hr earlier than I expected. Apparently any improvements is very welcome LOL @HardwareUnboxed. Can we now officially claim Zen 5%*2?
Insane difference versus 285K. Intel will be in the rearview mirror for a VERY long time. 35% faster is like 2 generations of upgrades on intel side, including a huge Vcache type solution.

Edit: DAPUNISHER beat me to it! I'm very late to the party :(
