I haven't tested 4x32GB, but i can share my results with 64GB memory.

This is a screenshot of the memory performance-testing i did at static 5ghz clockspeed with 4x16GB memory sticks
Sadly Zen4 memory controller see no performance benefit from the dualrank-memory which was my main interest in the testing below..

Really not that far of my SR performance: (main difference was lower possible FCLK and alittle more lose timings since PMIC was locked on the second memory set)

Benchmarks above were done before i had learned bout the FCLK + 200MT/s trick..

I have my doubts AMD will redesign the IO die prior to Zen 5
I'm hoping the current I/O die was a first attempt and with DDR5-7800 coming soon from G.Skill, it will make Zen 4 look slow to the uninformed average person who would look at a 13900K able to run that speed and go, "Golly, that's fast! AH-HYUCK!"

AMD must be working on a revised memory controller. It would be stupid not to.

A couple times I have managed to bug out either the Windows 11 scheduler or the CPU boost algorithm by closing CoreCycler without terminating it. One core gets stuck in single core boost and the others are locked down < 1000 MHz.

One of those times I opened another instance of CoreCycler for whatever reason and it was running Prime95 on a ~400 MHz Core 0 while Core 1 was locked to the usual 5.7 GHz. In that scenario and at -30 offset, the core was repeatedly failing with a rounding error within like 10 seconds. That CO offset was otherwise 100% stable in every stress test I've tried -- but light OS background tasks would be running on an undetectable unstable part of the v/f curve.

I've since turned it back to -15. AMD should really make the curve optimizer only modify voltages at frequencies over the base clock.

My question is, why are they so desperate to get rid of their stock? Something is not right. A processor this good shouldn't be selling this low not two months after launch.

Recessions hurt. Raphael and Raptor Lake are both feeling the sting. Plus Intel cut their margins on Raptor Lake and released at compelling price points.

Yes, and while $700 was incredible compared to the 1800x and the 2700x and the 5950x, the 5950x is still great and only $500 or so, and uses ddr4. So in recessionary times, they want to sell NOW. Newegg has it for $574 during black friday, this is a counter to that one. I put this here, as those who can afford it, its a great deal. Get it now before they sell out.

First time I've heard of MaxxMem. Downloaded it and gave it a shot.

I had 64GB back in 2017. Then I woke up and went back to 32GB with its faster speeds. There is no use case for me that would make going from 32GB to 64GB better.

I tend to beat the crap out of these systems with ray tracing, machine learning, weird math stuff. It's not important enough to shell out the big bucks for stuff like Epyc or DGX, but I'd like to have more than 64GB. This is from way back when I first got my 1950x, which I just replaced with this 7950X. The poor Threadripper is in the process of being converted to a file server. It's got 128GB of memory, the 96 thing was a BIOS issue at launch, IIRC.

OK, i placed the order on all the components needed - except case! I am lively. I wanted Fractal Design Define 7XL - one piece was stock 2 days ago. Yesterday it was gone and no info, when it will be stock again - simply "Not available"... What is the deal with that case?
I could alternatively get FD Meshify 2XL, which for all the purposes seems to be very similar to Define XL, just different aesthetics and perhaps more focus on cooling and less on sound dampening. This one is stock in numbers, all the variants. And truth to be told, it does look okayish:

especially with those RGB fans. But i dont fancy those that much, definitely not as much as minimalistic boxy look of define with those sharp edges.

Anyway, if i decided to go with Meshify, can i replace the fans supplied to Arctic Freezer 420 AIO with Fractal Design RGB ones (Aspect 14 RGB i think)? I intend to place radiator upfront and since the Meshify´s front has that mesh, so you can see the fans, i would want them to be RGB ones.
Or should i get the ALF 420 A-RGB version instead? That one was not stock, and i wanted to go with Define case anyway, so i ordered regular 420.

That? they sent me that in an email 4-5 days ago. I didn't think of clicking the icons in the web page after clicking on the email. do you think amazon will pick up the same pricing? I'd hate to give newegg scum my money but if they're the only seller who'll sell at this price it looks like im indeed building sooner rather than later. hopefully I can score a 7900xtx next month.

Well, I guess 574 is better than 599, but if you hate the egg, then my deal is the way to go for $25.

Mine came today, but have not had a chance to upgrade what I am typing on.

I don't hate them but I get 5% back ordering from them vs 3% at newegg. the eggs is decent when there's only unknown third parties on amazon.

The $589 is antonline in ebay. Amazon is in la-la-land. Newegg is not until the 21st, and may run out.

But before that, they simply add some really fast vcache and call it a day :p

This thought just occurred to me. AMD mobos must have more expensive memory traces going from the DIMM slots to the CPU socket coz they have to account for the next 5 years of DDR5 speed advancements. An X670E is a sound investment for anyone who upgrades frequently or wants a long lasting platform.

PCI-E Gen5 tracing is what pushes the price over the edge, I hear. When I looked up for AM5 board, B650E boards were more expensive than X670 (Non-E) boards.

Amazon was selling the 7950X for high 700 or low 800. They've been fudging the price on the 13900k for weeks now. I'll check in 5-8x a day on my mobile phone and it'll be scattering around. But it has been more steady at 625 the last week with the occasional price hike. idk what amazon uses metrics wise to auto change their pricing.
