1)There's no date for announced for Genoa-X. the only leaked slide (by adored) shows it's in Q1 2023, so expect 7000X3D around that time.
2)5800X3D is not defects, it's a perfectly working 8 of 8 cores, one of which can reach 4.5 GHz. Top boosting part in "Milan-X" line has 2 of 8 cores active per CCD, and 3.8GHz max.
I mean defect as in it uses higher voltages to maintain the same clocks per chiplet. 5950X uses less voltage ( greater v/f curve ) to maintain 4.9 than a 5800X does. They're not putting the best chips on a 5800X3D compared to the Epyc equivalent.

That's not a defect but just a different bin. You can bin for less leakage -> energy efficiency (usually mobile and server) or for more leakage -> high frequency (usually desktop).

Received my Corsair 7000X case. It is quite a bit larger than the 465X it's replacing. Mocking up the positioning. Going to have to put the back of the case close to the wall. Good thing most of the air will exhaust from the top through the 420mm H170i.

It'll all look good together once I get everything inside.

Where are the preorders? it is just about a week from now.

Currently neck deep in trouble with some projects, a perf boost would be welcomed to speed up my work loads

Already done with the Linux Task manager too, need the CPU now

I saw you provided the PP tables for 5600X in that repo, very nice. Author has not abandoned the project.
Anyway, I made one GUI already using QML, once the PP tables are there I should be able to support Zen 4.
Same code can be made to run on RPi4 feeding a side Display with data fetched on GRPC.

This is how the FormD T1 (v2) ships. The box is about 2.25” (~57mm) thick. You assemble it yourself, but it isn’t hard. the piece in the bag is the PCIE 4.0 riser cable.

Looks like my 3090 should fit, so I will likely stick with it for the GPU for now.

More pics when I get the rest of the hardware.

Don't all those look boring? Not a single one at DDR5-6000. All bland, nothing sweet :p

Do we know when are the PCIEX 5 m2 disks coming? I need to know what its gonna cost.

Unless some new 64GB kits pop-up in coming weeks with 6000MHz at good price, i will have to downgrade my excellent plans to just 5600. Since they are actually available and significantly cheaper.
Hopefully there will be some AIB rtx4090 available at near MSRP and not 200 EUROs more expensive the cheapest ones.

Nov/Dec maybe?

Blasphemy if true. So even if i get shiny new rig with Zen4 and Lovelace already by October, i would need to wait another month or 2 for the SSD, which is a critical part, since its gonna be system disk.
At that point i might as well wait for new year for 3D chips.

Overall i am bit annoyed by lack of availability of some stuff around here - i mean things i want are not stock. Pretty much no 64GB DDR5 kits, definitely not 6000 ones, have trouble finding Fractal Design 7XL in my country, this thing with 5.0 SSDs months away, no PSUs with 2x new connector available either... by this rate my build will be complete in April next year.

I very much agree.. I'm buying my own stuff to play with
A-die from china is here early next week and have already received my other set of custom memory heatsinks :innocent:

Should be a fun showdown between m-die and a-die once i get my hands on a cpu+motherboard..
If i'm lucky and everything goes according to plan i can run 4x16GB for dual (quad) rank without gimping my memory speeds

Will be fun testing either way :)

That's what AMD stated:

Since the platform is already launched for more than a month by then maybe some manufacturers have products earlier.

Wouldn't it be cheaper just RAIDing cheap PCIe 4.0 SSDs with this in a spare x16 slot: https://www.amazon.com/Expansion-Heatsink-Enclosure-Bandwidth-Bifurcation/dp/B09N92SQY9

I want 2 GPUs so there wont be any spare 16x slot :p

Additionally, single WD Black SN850 1TB, which i read is the top 4.0 model one could get, costs cca 200 EUROs around here. BTW, if there are any cheaper alternatives from other companies, providing similar performance, let me know - i have not researched this one very thorough yet.
Anyway, i expect its replacement would be somewhat costlier, given being new product and cost increase with each passing generation, but if the price will be on par with SN850 RAID, then no, thank you, not paying 2x more than 4.0 just because.

I would recommend this one instead: SK hynix Platinum P41 1TB PCIe NVMe Gen4 M.2 2280 (i have one on the way myself)
