We've had it in my neck of NY for around six years. Since then I've grown to like it less and less. My tastes have changed (more and more towards only liking IPAs and big beers, regardless of the style) and I find myself not ever wanting to drink Yuengling. I'll either go for a much better drink, something way cheap, or a cocktail! Theres no reason to be paying the premium for Yuengling over PBR or something similar. If you are going to pay more, get something worth it... I guess I'm a beer snob.

I could have sworn I saw the 120min at Andersons in Toledo. And I thought I saw it at a local import store here in Columbus. Might have seen the 90 and just thought I saw the 120. I know it was a 4pk, but I think the 90min is a 4pk as well.

And these laws of legal limits for a beer's ABV is just ridiculous. So what if the percentage approaches weak liqueurs, that makes it dangerous or something? What about 40% ABV products? ridiculous.

I was quite happy (though annoyed...), that the year after I moved away from NC (2003-2004), the dems waited for the republicans to take a 3 day circle jerk vacation, then unanimously voted to pass:

1: state lottery
2: allow sale/import of >5% ABV beer.

As someone who was born and raised on Yuengling lager, I'm going to have to disagree. It's a solid bang for the buck, but best tasting macro? Nah. Sam Adams (while technically a micro depending on what strict definitions you're using) is probably the best macro, I'd say. When you can grab a case of lager for 12 bucks though, it's hard to say no.

Prohibition more or less destroyed the industry for decades. AB survived by expanding its patented refrigerated rail car tech into other markets. I have no idea how Yeungling survived, though--but I'm glad they did.

They made Ice Cream. Apparently there is some sort of crossover somehow.

They haven't for about 20 years but I grew up in Pottsville, PA and you'd always see all sorts of Yuengling Ice Cream Signs, etc.


Having cut my teeth on Yuengling, I have to say in my opinion Lager is not really my favorite. I think outside the area it is way overpriced. Premies are pretty good and way cheaper. They bottle a version of Yuengling Black and Tan that is half Premium and half Porter, but if you want a real treat have a true Yuengling Half and Half (Black and Tan, if you will) by mixing Yuengling Lord Chesterfeld Ale and Yuengling Porter.

In my opinion Chesties (Lord Chesterfeld Ale) are the best they make.

We used to always drink Yuengs in Quarts. Best way to get it.

Nope, that's all I've seen here in VA. But then again, I haven't really bought beer at a grocery store in a while, and haven't looked for Yuengling in a long time. I'll see if I can find some Porter next time.

Sam Adams is not a macro in some specific definitions because of its cooperate/brewery structure. BeerAdvocate (or some other beer mag) had an interesting article on it maybe a year or two ago. But either we, we agree.

They used to have like 5 or 6 other beers too. They haven't for almost the same amount of time as they stopped making ice cream. Most of the Bars in my hometown have Yueng posters everywhere and they have all the old beers on them.

They used to have called Wiener Beer. I don't know what to think about that.

Yeah we boiled up 3 bottles. We tried to hunt down some shine to make some traditional boilo but it ended up falling through. With how cold it was it was absolutely perfect.

The only good thing about PA is that instead of having beer at Walmart and every gas station, we do get huge beer warehouses with HUGE selections.
