everyone pays for their tuxes and dresses. that's just how it is... often, the bride & groom are quite burdened with other costs. ie. wedding.

that's why you stupid non-asians shouldn't sign up for a dumbass register and get worthless sh!t. go asian style require RED ENVELOPES so you're not $100k in debt after the wedding.
For those who say "not everyone can afford blah blah" then DON'T INVITE SO MANY PEOPLE AND HAVE A LAVISH WEDDING. Cater chinese food and have the reception at your house.

dude that's just my observation. asians receive Cash as gifts to finance the wedding. in fact chinese people are notorious for profiting from weddings. I mean why da hell would I want to receive goods that i may necessarily not want. it's so inefficient. bah i guess my post makes me sound like angry-azn (i'm not, just peeved).

nah, these days they set up a gift registry online, so the couple can ask for certain items with little fuss. i'm attending a wedding in three weeks and they had a registry up at crate and barrel. picked an item, gave my cc info, and it was shipped straight to the bride. pretty easy.
